NHL Props: Bet on Pietrangelo to Score in Game Four Tonight

No one really knows who is going to win the Stanley Cup. But we can tell you that the biggest surprise is the Montreal Canadiens, who are two wins away from advancing to the final round and eliminating the Vegas Golden Knights, even without their head coach.

The New York Islanders have also surprised some people by hanging right with the Tampa Bay Lightning and perhaps even outplaying them to this point.

So we are faced with some interesting challenges as the next games for these teams approach – one on Sunday (Canadiens vs. Golden Knights) and the other on Monday (Islanders vs. Lightning).

And we’re going to answer the call with our best Stanley Cup props bets for these games, on which we are expecting to cash for our readers.

Golden Knights vs. Canadiens Game 4 Props Picks

Golden Knights vs. Canadiens Betting Report

VEGAS – ALEX PIETRANGELO TO SCORE (+260)

In this series, the Knights have not gotten the production they’ve hoped for from their forwards, but their defensemen have been more than adequately “offensive.” In fact, backliners have accounted for six of the team’s eight goals and 48 of the 106 shots on goal.

That’s why it would not shock us too much if Pietrangelo hit paydirt again. He has scored three goals and had 17 shots in three games for Vegas, and those are very impressive totals.

NHL Lines

WINNING MARGIN: CANADIENS BY ONE GOAL (+750)

Yes, we realize that we’ve just placed a bet on Pietrangelo to score. But we may do the same for Josh Anderson (+350), who after being asleep for a while, came alive in Game 3 with a pair of goals, including the winner.

Keep in mind that Montreal is playing at home in this one, and that the Habs are fully over the absence of their coach, Dominique Ducharme, who has been ordered to self-isolate after testing positive for COVID.

They are getting more High-Danger Chances, and that would explain why they can be ahead two games to one despite being outshot 106-79. Montreal has now won nine of its last ten games, and they have not allowed a power play goal in that entire time.

Islanders vs. Lightning Game 5 Props Picks

Islanders vs. Lightning Betting Report

DOUBLE – TAMPA BAY TO WIN AND UNDER 5.5 GOALS (+155)

As Game 5 now looms on the horizon, we have to examine what tone this series has carried. Aside from Mat Barzal (who scored his third goal of the series the other night) and Cal Clutterbuck, they haven’t gotten what they were hoping for out of their key offensive people.

In Game 4, Anthony Beauvillier had no shots and got only his first point in the series (an assist). Kyle Palmieri, acquired at the trade deadline and kind dormant for them in the regular season, emerged with some serious production in the first two rounds (seven goals), but has been unaccounted for in the four games against the Lightning, going without a single point. And 20-year-old Oliver Wahlstrom, who came back from an injury and is now healthy, hasn’t played at all.

Meanwhile, these teams haven’t exactly killed each other with shots on goal, and the goaltending hasn’t left much to complain about.

One can argue that the Islanders have played better in this series, as evidenced by their advantage in Expected Goals and High-Danger Chances. But the Lightning, who were flat for too long, it appears, until the third period of Saturday’s game (allowing three goals in the second stanza) should come back with a vengeance.

NHL Predictions

EXACT SCORE – TAMPA BAY WINS 2-1 (+1400)

Okay, we went over this one before Game 4, when we told you that five of the previous nine games played between these teams ended 2-1. Well, make that five out of ten, but this one is worth at least a nibble.

Out of these two clubs, the Bolts are the ones who have more firepower. And that may well surface as they return to the Amalie Arena.

But the defense is a very underrated aspect of Tampa Bay’s game. Victor Hedman has been an iron man, averaging 25 minutes. This team has allowed just a little over 2.2 goals a game in this playoff season. So an outstanding outing could get them here. And look at the price. Try it.
