Top Five NHL Picks for Saturday, December 11th 2021

We’re about 26 or so games deep in the 2021-22 NHL season. Quick, which NHL has the most wins? It’s not defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay and no, it’s not this year’s Cup favorite Colorado either.

NHL Sportsbooks

With 19, the Minnesota Wild has the most NHL victories so far. The Wild is tied with Calgary and Washington in goal differential (+27). The Wild will be in action Saturday going for their ninth straight win. How will the Wild and the rest of the league fare on Saturday?

Here are the top five NHL picks for Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Minnesota Wild vs. Los Angeles Kings

Wild vs. Kings Predictions

Best Bet: OVER 5.5

The Wild are on fire having won eight straight. The Over has hit in six of the eight during the winning streak. Minnesota has scored four or more goals in seven straight games.

Minnesota beat LA on the road earlier this season by a final score of 3-2. The Wild is No. 1 in scoring in the NHL right now. The Kings are sixth in goals against and seventh in opponents’ shots per game.

This could be a trap game for the Wild and you would think they would keep their scoring streak going too. The Kings just shutout Dallas and they play good defense.

We’ll bank on another close 2-1 or 3-2 game and back the Under at plus money (+104).

NHL Betting Odds

Washington Capitals vs. Buffalo Sabres

Capitals vs. Sabres Predictions

Best Bet: CAPITALS -1.5 (+122)

The Metropolitan Division-leading Capitals have won five of their last seven and will face Buffalo Saturday night after playing the Penguins on Friday night.

The Sabres have lost five straight and have won just once in their last ten games. Buffalo is one of the worst defensive teams in the league. They are 27th in shots allowed and 29th in goals against. Even on the second night of a back-to-back, the Caps can cover.

Boston Bruins vs. Calgary Flames

Bruins vs. Flames Predictions

Best Bet: UNDER 5.5

Calgary will try to snap a three-game winless streak when Boston comes to town on Saturday night. The Flames have only scored more than three goals in a single game once since Nov. 23.

The Bruins beat Edmonton 3-2 on Thursday night, but they have been inconsistent this season. Boston trends Under with six straight game totals going Under. It’s a similar story for Calgary. Four of the last six totals have gone Under.

The two teams played in Boston on Nov. 21. The Flames won 4-0. The Bruins are 25 th in the NHL in scoring. It’s hard to see this game going Over the total.

NHL Predictions

Anaheim Ducks vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Ducks vs. Penguins Predictions

Best Bet: DUCKS +130

The Ducks have been good to bettors with a 23-5 ATS record so far this season. They head to Pittsburgh on Saturday night.

Anaheim will have the rest advantage as the Penguins face Washington on Friday night. The Ducks are off. The Penguins have somehow managed to win seven of their last ten games with a lineup that has been without Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust, and Jake Guentzel.

With the extra rest and the fact that the Pens play better on the road, there is value on Anaheim.

Montreal Canadiens vs. St. Louis Blues

Canadiens vs. Blues Predictions

Best Bet: BLUES -0.5 (+130)

A season after playing for the Stanley Cup, the Canadiens are awful. They have lost their last five straight and have won two of their last ten games.

The Blues are 14-8-4 and in second place in the Central Division. They have won two straight and are 9- 3-1 at home this season. This will be win No. 10.
