Daniel Alfredsson (born 11 December 1972) is a Swedish retired professional ice hockey player. He spent 18 seasons in the National Hockey League, 17 with the Ottawa Senators and played his final year with the Detroit Red Wings. He signed a one-day contract on December 4, 2014 to retire as a member of the Ottawa Senators. He later signed a part-time job with the Ottawa Senators as an advisor to the General Manager on September 17th, 2015.
