UFC 283 Odds, Picks and Preview

UFC 283 is this Saturday at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There is a Brazilian fighter in every fight on the UFC 283 card, including Glover Teixeira vs. Jamahal Hill in the main event.

There are currently 15 fights scheduled for UFC 283 this weekend, but that can change.

Here are my best bets for the top three fights at UFC 283:

Teixeira vs. Hill Predictions

Fight Odds: Teixeira (+105) vs. Hill (-125)

Teixeira (33-8) and Hill (11-1-0-1) will fight for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title.

Hill was knocked out by Paul Craig in the first round in 2021 at UFC 263. He has since gone 3-0 with all wins coming by TKO/KO against Jimmy Crute, Johnny Walker and Thiago Santos.

Teixeira is 43 years old and is coming off a submission loss against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 275.

Hill will have the edge in striking. He’s 2” taller and has a 3” reach advantage. He averages more SLpM (6.46 vs. 3.80) and he absorbs less strikes as well on average (3.51 SApM vs. 3.93 SApM).

Teixeira will look to take the fight to the mat. He averages 2.20 takedowns per 15 minutes. Hill has 65% takedown defense. Teixeira has been knocked out three times and Hill has a good shot to make it four.

Figueiredo vs. Moreno Predictions

Fight Odds: Figueiredo (-105) vs. Moreno (-115)

Deiveson Figueiredo (21-2-1) will fight Brandon Moreno (20-6-2) for the UFC flyweight title.

This is the fourth time these two guys have fought each other. The first fight was a draw in 2020, the second fight was won by Moreno in 2021 and the third fight was won by Figueiredo last year.

Figueiredo hasn’t fought since the win, but Moreno has a TKO win against Kai Kara-France.

Moreno lost the last H2H fight, but won the striking battle (105-86). Figueiredo had one more takedown (2-1). If Moreno wins the takedown battle, he’ll win this fight and the flyweight title.

Best Bet: Moreno ML (-115)

UFC Rounds Betting Strategy

Burns vs. Magny Predictions

Fight Odds: Burns (-410) vs. Magny (+330)

Gilbert Burns (20-5) is a heavy favorite against Neil Magny (27-9). Burns is just 1-2 since 2021, but he has fought the best-of-the-best. He lost to Kamaru Usman (TKO) and Khamzat Chimaev (Decision).

Magny is 3-2 since 2021 and he’s coming off a submission win against Daniel Rodriguez.

This fight is closer than the odds indicate. Magny is a warrior, but he rarely finishes. He has been tapped out five times in his career, but Burns hasn’t tapped out anyone since Mike Davis in 2019.

I’m betting on over 2.5 rounds. Burns has gone the distance in five of his last seven fights and Magny has gone the distance in six of his last eight fights. Look for this bout to go the distance as well.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 Rounds (-155)
