After a rough stretch of nine games in 18 days, the Golden State Warriors are finally catching a breather—and just in time.
Fresh off a 133-95 demolition of the Phoenix Suns, the Warriors now return to San Francisco to host the struggling San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night. The win over Phoenix moved Golden State (47-32) into a four-way tie for fourth in the Western Conference, with postseason seedings likely coming down to tiebreakers.
Second Night, Lighter Workload
Golden State is on the second night of a back-to-back, but the Suns matchup turned into a blessing in disguise. The game was such a blowout that head coach Steve Kerr used it to rest his stars and give meaningful minutes to the bench.
“Great night for us… keep everybody under 25 minutes,” Kerr said.
“And then get a lot of minutes for guys off the bench. It’s always important to keep the spirits up.”
