UFC on ESPN 68 delivered some shocking moments – the biggest of which ended up coming in the main event. Fans and bettors alike were eagerly awaiting a showdown between Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber, but it was a fight they’d ultimately never get.

The fight was cancelled due to medical issues with Barber, leaving a huge hole in an otherwise eventful and entertaining card. The good news? There were plenty of strong fights and some winning bets to be had.

Ideally you were on the winning side more often than not, and hopefully missing out on the main event didn’t ruin your night. Let’s re-hash this UFC betting slate to see how things unfolded, while looking at which UFC picks delivered.

We’ll never know if my upset pick of Maycee Barber would have hit, but I sure had it figured out for the UFC on ESPN 68 main card, overall. I saw a Mateusz Gamrot win coming, and he dominated Ludovit Klein in a Decision win.

Gamrot scored convincing wins in every single round and ended up being a solid value at his -175 price tag. I whiffed on a Bruno Lopes upset, as I felt an aging Dustin Jacoby could be a bit vulnerable. Instead, Jacoby’s explosive finishing ability was on first display in a first round KO.

That was one rough hiccup for me personally, but that can happen when trying to pick some UFC upsets. On the flip side, I picked Billy Ray Goff to get the win, but he was upset by Ramiz Brahimah, who forced a tap out in the first round.

I finished with a respectable 3-2 mark throughout the main card, however, as I also had Reese and Vieira as winners and they got the job done.

You would have finished in the green if you rolled with my picks. You would have been in good hands if you used the best handicappers available online, too. I suggest a mixture of both going into the next UFC event.

UFC Preliminary Card Results

Some other fight cancellations stripped the Prelims down to just four fights. If the actual bouts weren’t intense enough, UFC on Vegas 107 was disrupted immensely by fights that never were.

Luckily, the four bouts that did stay on schedule ended up delivering. I was all over an Oki win and he got past Michae, Aswell Jr. via Decision. It was a bit underwhelming, of course, especially when you note that Aswell took the fight on short notice.

A win is a win, though, while I also predicted victories for Leavitt and Nascimento. Alice Ardelean scored a sizable upset (+235) over Rayanne Dos Santos, giving me my lone loss in the Prelims.

Overall, my UFC picks went 3-1 in the Prelims and 7-4 on the night. Let’s wrap things up with a spotlight on the best bouts at UFC on ESPN 68.

UFC Results: Performance Of The Night Bonuses

  • Fight of the Night: Alice Ardelean vs. Rayanne Dos Santos
  • Performance of the Night 1: Jordan Leavitt
  • Performance of the Night 2: Ramiz Brahimaj

Fight Of The Night

The top fight for UFC on Vegas 107 goes to Alice Ardelean and Rayanne Dos Santos, as the two gritted through a tense Decision. The win went to Ardelean, who entered the bout as a +235 underdog and found a way to outlast her favored opponent.

It shouldn’t have been that shocking looking back on the original matchup. There was a clear price gap, but Dos Santos already had eight losses on her ledger and had been trending in the wrong direction with two straight losses.

Dos Santos also typically ends fights early on the mat (8 career submissions), but Ardelean proved to be tougher than expected and didn’t allow that to happen. The end result was obviously not what Rayanne Dos Santos wanted, but both parties earned a $50,000 bonus for their efforts.

Performance Of The Night

  • Performance of the Night 1: Jordan Leavitt
  • Performance of the Night 2: Ramiz Brahimaj

Jordan Leavitt and Ramiz Brahimaj both scored their own $50,000 bonuses for the top two performances of the night at UFC on Vegas 107.

Ramiz winning one of these spots is less surprising, as he shocked everyone at this event with a surprising first round submission over the favored Billy Ray Goff.

The win was especially brutal as Ramiz scored a guillotine choke-out against the fence.

Leavitt’s win was almost as good, as he used an anaconda choke to force Kurt Holobaugh to tap out. Leavitt returned from an 18-month layoff and didn’t look any worse for the wear, taking care of his opponent in the first round.
