On Saturday, November 22, the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will host a massive boxing card with four titles fights highlighting the DAZN PPV. In the main event, David Benavidez will defend his WBC light heavyweight title against Anthony Yarde.
In April 2025, Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) was promoted from interim to the full WBC light heavyweight champ after Dmitry Bivol vacated the title to pursue a third fight against Artur Beterbiev. So, this will be his first defense of the title.
Benavidez already held gold in the super middleweight division and is chasing after glory and gold. He last fought in February, and defeated David Morrell via unanimous decision.
Since losing to Beterbiev in January 2023, Anthony Yarde (27-3, 24 KOs) has won four fights in a row as he worked his way back up the rankings to the status of title contender. He last fought in April, and defeated Lyndon Arthur via unanimous decision.
The main event of Ring IV has an estimated ring walk of 9:04pm ET which is 2:04am local time. Prior to this bout, there are a number of exciting fights on the undercard like: Devin Haney vs. Brian Norman Jr. and Jesse Rodriguez vs. Fernando Martinez.

David Benavidez Recent Fights
David Benavidez has been crushing named fighters over the last few years as he chased after fights against Canelo Alvarez and other superstars.
As mentioned above, he last fought in February, and beat David Morrell via unanimous decision with the scores of 118-108, 115-111, 115-111.
Prior to that, Benavidez scored a UD win over Oleksandr Gvozdyk in June 2024, via the scores of 117-111, 119-109, 116-112. Yes, those scores are all over the place. That was his lone fight last year.
However, Benavidez did compete twice in 2023, when he beat Caleb Plant via UD in March and Demetrius Andrade in November via 6th round RTD. Those last three bouts were against former world champions and El Monstro beat them all.
As for this weekend’s clash, Benavidez expects plenty of action and invites a war from Yarde:
“I definitely expect a big action fight. Anthony Yarde has been in there with the best of them. He’s felt hard shots against two of the best Russian fighters of all time. I’m expecting him to come 100 percent ready for this fight. I’m not scared of anything. I accept and invite war.”
David Benavidez Odds
Benavidez opened as a -1100 favorite over Yarde and has seen his odds settle in a range of -900 to -2000. This is a big jump from his recent fight against Morrell when he was a -250 to -320 favorite.
According to his betting data, Benavidez has not been listed as an underdog since prior to 2016. However, that has changed when it comes to potential future matchups as he’s an underdog against the Big 3 of the division in Canelo, Beterbiev and Bivol.
Of the three, Benavidez’s odds are the biggest against Bivol at +285. He’s a -105 underdog against Alvarez and +215 against Beterbiev.
Anthony Yarde Recent Fights
Anthony Yarde last stepped into the ring seven months ago when he beat Lyndon Arthur via Unanimous Decision with the scores of 115-113, 116-112, 116-112. This was a rematch from their firsrt bout in 20-21, when Yarde lost via split decision. It was the second loss of his pro career.
Following that defeat, Yarde bounced back in a big way by knocking out Stefani Kykov in November 2022. He jumped at a world title fight against Beterbiev just two months later. However, Yarde was stopped in the 8th round to suffer the third loss of his career.
Since then, the 34-year-old has won four bouts in a row. Those fights were hand picked to get him back on track and pick up some easy wins like against Jorge Silva in September 2023. Silva was 23-15 at the time and lost via 2nd round KO.
While Arthur was a nice win, Yarde seems to lose against elite talent. Nevertheless, those three defeats haven’t dulled the Brit’s confidence as he made the following pre-fight comments:
“I don’t think he’s been hit by anybody that hits like me yet. But we’ll have to see on the night. Styles make fights, so I know it’s going to be an exciting one.”
Anthony Yarde Odds
Yarde opened as a +610 underdog for this weekend’s title bout. His fightline has settled in a range of +550 to +900 odds. This is the first time that Yarde has been an underdog since he fought Beterbiev in January 2023. Then, Yarde closed at +400 to +600 which is smaller than his upcoming fight on Saturday.
Prior to that, Yarde’s last time as the underdog came in August 2019, when he fought Sergey Kovalev. Otherwise, the Brit has been a favorite in most of his professional bouts.
Benavidez vs. Yarde Predictions
Benavidez is the younger, bigger and more talented fighter in this matchup. While his height and reach are just a few inches of an advantage, the 28-year-old is simply a better fighter both as a striker and defensively. He’s beaten far better talent than Yarde and should easily dispatch of the Brit in this bout.
I do think Yarde is going to make this fight entertaining as his only chance is to try and finish Benavidez. Unfortunately, that will backfire and cost him the bout. But not before he does some damage.
Bet: David Benavidez (-1200)
The Best Benavidez vs. Yarde Prop Bets
Let’s take a look at some of the best Benavidez vs. Yarde prop bets:
Will Fight go the distance?
- Yes (+135)
- No (-190)
Combined, these two men have 60 total fights. Of those fights, they have totaled 48 knockouts. Yarde has another two bouts lost via KO. That means they’ve gone the distance in just 10 of 60 pro fights.
Three of Benavidez’s last four bouts have gone the distance. Yarde went the full 12 rounds against Arthur in April. It’s the second time he’s gone the distance against that opponent.
With that said, I don’t see this bout going the distance. The better question is when will it end inside the distance.
Bet: No (-190)
Over/Under 9.5 rounds
- Over 9.5 (-115)
- Under 9.5 (-115)
As Yarde alluded to in his quote above, styles make fights. And this weekend’s fight should be a banger as both men look to score the knockout.
The reality is that Benavidez is the better fighter and can withstand the damage that Yarde will inflict before the fight is finished before the 10th round. Take the Under!
Bet: Under 9.5 rounds (-115)
Method of Victory
- Yarde via TKO/KO/DQ (+1100)
- Yarde via decision (+1800)
- Benavidez via TKO/KO/DQ (-150)
- Benavidez via decision (+160)
- Draw (+2200)
We can toss out the options of a Draw or Yarde winning. So, that leaves us with Benavidez winning via TKO/KO or decision. Based on my thoughts above, it’s clear that I’m siding with the stoppage.
I think Benavidez’s talent, power and tenacity will lead to a knockout victory which will be the 25th of his career.
Bet: Benavidez via TKO/KO/DQ (-150)
Betting on Rounds
- Either Winner in rounds 1-4 (+500)
- Either Winner in rounds 5-8 (+240)
- Either Winner in rounds 9-12 (+300)
- Fight To Go The Distance (+135)
If you followed along to this point, we’re looking at a stoppage most likely before Round 9. The odds above show that rounds 5-8 is the favored option outside of the bout going the distance.
I like this option as I see two fighters looking to inflict pain, cause damage, and go for the knockout. This won’t be a boxing match. Instead, it will be a fight!
Bet: Either Winner in rounds 9-12 (+300)
What’s Next For The Benavidez vs. Yarde Winner?
If Yarde can pull off the miracle, then there would be an immediate rematch. However, I don’t see that happening at all. Instead, Benavidez is going to get the knockout victory over the rugged British fighter.
Once he wins, then Team Benavidez will turn their attention towards the big names. Benavidez’s father has already talked about the potential upcoming challenges for his son:
“We have to look as spectacular as possible to get to the bigger fights, the Bivol-Beterbiev [winner and cruiserweight champions Gilberto] ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez and Jai Opetaia. Those are the monsters around us.”
The elder Benavidez then narrowed his focus on Ramirez as the next fight. In fact, there’s already talk of the two competing on Cinco de Mayo next year and do so in Mexico or Las Vegas. Ramirez’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya wants the bout in Las Vegas.
Wherever the bout may take place, the fight will be an epic one as Ramirez is the current WBO and WBA cruiserweight champion and is 48-1 with 30 KOs in his stellar career so far. He’s expected to take a tune-up fight prior to the May clash with Benavidez or another big name.
The other potential hang up with a Benavidez-Ramirez fight is the fact that Zurdo might chase after Jai Opetaia who holds The Ring and IBF cruiserweight belts. A title unification bout could make a future Benavidez fight even more attractive.
If that happens, then it’s up in the air as to who Benavidez will face next. It’s entirely possible that the WBC makes him fight the mandatory challenger. Could he go after Albert Ramirez or Ali Izmailov to hand them their first losses? That’s possible, as well. He could also look to add another name to his resume like Callum Smith or Joshua Buatsi.
In other words, Benavidez’s next fight is going to be a drama that unfolds over the next two to four months before we get clarity.
