The most common Powerball white balls in the 1,428 Powerball draws from 7 October 2015 to 2 November 2026. A fair draw averages 103.48 per number. Source: New York State open data (dataset d6yy-54nr), read 02:22 UTC on 5 November 2026; every count matches the Texas and Washington lotteries’ own frequency tables.

The sample is every draw of the current game: 5 white balls from 69 and 1 red Powerball from 26. Washington’s Lottery dates sales of this matrix to 4 October 2015, and the Texas Lottery counts its draws from the first one, on 7 October 2015. That gives 1,428 draws to 2 November 2026, the last of them 7 23 29 64 66 with Powerball 23. Earlier draws used other pools, so they are left out.

The least common white balls and every Powerball count

White ball 13 is the least drawn, at 79 times. Against the fair average of 103.48, that is the lowest count in the table.

Powerball statistics: is any number favoured?

Every count above differs from the fair average, and they always will. The real question is whether they differ more than chance allows. A chi-square goodness-of-fit test answers it: it adds up how far each count sits from its fair average and asks how often a fair draw would produce a spread that wide.

The test runs once across the 69 white balls and once across the 26 Powerballs. For the white balls the result is 77.6 on 68 degrees of freedom, with a p-value of 0.2. The p-value is the chance that a fair draw spreads the counts at least this unevenly. Here that is about one time in five.

The Powerball result is 24.4 on 25 degrees of freedom, p = 0.5. A fair draw spreads the counts at least this unevenly about one time in two.

Both values are ordinary. The counts give no evidence that any number is favoured, and they are consistent with a fair draw. The test cannot prove the draw is fair. It finds nothing that says it is not.

The leader passes the same check. White ball 21 makes up 1.8% of the 7,140 white balls drawn, against a fair share of 1.4%. That gap sits inside the spread the test allows for.

The counts were checked against the lotteries’ own tables. All 69 white-ball counts match the Texas Lottery table for the same 1,428 draws, and all 69 white and 26 Powerball counts match Washington’s Lottery.

Hot and cold numbers in the last 100 draws

“Hot” and “cold” usually mean a recent window, so here is one: the last 100 draws, from 16 March to 2 November 2026. In 100 draws a fair draw averages 7.25 appearances per white ball and 3.85 per Powerball.

White ball 64 leads the window with 13, and Powerball 3 leads the red ball with 8.

The last 100 Powerball draws, 16 March to 2 November 2026. A fair draw averages 7.25 per white ball and 3.85 per Powerball over 100 draws.

The same test on those 100 draws gives 58.9 on 68 degrees of freedom for the white balls, p = 0.78, and 27.4 on 25 for the Powerball, p = 0.34. Neither is unusual. “Hot” and “cold” describe the past only. They say nothing about the next draw.

Overdue numbers

Some numbers have not come up for a long run. Powerball 21 has not been drawn in the last 100 draws. White ball 43 has not been drawn in the last 50.

Counted back from the 2 November 2026 draw. A white ball comes up on average once every 13.8 draws, a Powerball once every 26; a long absence does not change the next draw.

The gap does not change the chance. In every draw a given white ball comes up 7.2% of the time and a given Powerball 3.8% of the time, whatever came before. The average gap between appearances is 13.8 draws for a white ball and 26 for a Powerball. A run longer than that is part of the record, not a signal.

Odd, even, low and high

The 69 white balls hold 35 odd and 34 even numbers. Low here means 1 to 34 and high means 35 to 69. The table counts the odd balls, and the low balls, in each draw and sets each mix beside its exact fair-draw chance.

The ten largest Powerball jackpots, as listed by powerball.com on 4 November 2026 (read 05:12 UTC on 5 November 2026). The 4 November 2026 draw, won in New Jersey, is shown at the estimate on powerball.com’s draw result for that night (read 05:05 UTC on 5 November 2026).

Before the latest win, the jackpot had last been won on 12 August 2026: $1.04 billion, in Illinois. The 35 draws after it, to 2 November 2026, produced no jackpot winner.

The Wednesday 4 November 2026 draw ended that run. Its numbers were 15 34 41 53 56 with Powerball 21, and powerball.com’s draw result (read 05:05 UTC on 5 November 2026) shows one jackpot-winning play, in New Jersey, at an estimated $847 million, with a cash value of $363.1 million. That places it ninth in the list above, ahead of the $842.4 million of 1 January 2024. The draw result states nothing else about the winner: no town, and no choice of cash or annuity.

That draw is not in the counts on this page, which stop at 2 November 2026. Draws are held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Past frequency does not change the next draw’s odds: the jackpot stays 1 in 292,201,338 per play. If you play, set a limit first; our responsible gambling guide explains how.
