On Saturday, May 10, the boxing action picks up as Emanuel Navarette puts his WBO junior lightweight title on the line against the unbeaten challenger Charly Suarez.
The Navarette vs. Suarez fight will headline a night of fights live from the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California. The event will be promoted by Top Rank and can be seen live on ESPN and ESPN+ beginning at 10pm ET.
Navarette (39-2-1, 32 KOs) split his two fights last year with his most recent bout coming in December against Oscar Valdez in an exciting rematch. He tried competing at lightweight in his loss to Denys Berinchyk one year ago.
Suarez (18-0, 10 KOs) scored a third round TKO victory in his last outing, which came in September 2024. He also competed twice last year. However, he was successful in both fights unlike Navarette.
With that said, let’s take a look at the latest Charly Suarez vs. Emmanuel Navarrete odds, courtesy of the top sports betting sites, and make our Emmanuel Navarrete vs. Charly Suarez predictions.

Charly Suarez Recent Fights
Charly Suarez is a perfect 18-0 as he heads into his biggest fight to date. He’s competed four times in the last two years and has come away showing improved skills each time out.
His last bout was in September 2024, and he defeated Jorge Castaneda via 3rd round TKO. Five months prior, Suarez beat Luis Coria via unanimous decision as he won most of the rounds with the judges.
In 2023, Suarez beat Paul Fleming via 12th round TKO in March then followed that up with a unanimous decision win over Yohan Vasquez in August.
Suarez has been relatively busy over the last few years, which should help him enter this weekend’s clash in overall great ring shape. He’s also showing up with plenty of confidence:
“I am thankful to Top Rank for this opportunity. When I enter the ring on May 10, I will show the world I have what it takes. I won’t waste this opportunity. Navarrete is a monster in the ring, but I know I am better.”
Charly Suarez Odds
There’s very limited betting data for Suarez. He opened as a +360 underdog and still sits within a range of +300 to +400. Prior to that, we have just his two bouts from last year with available data.
Suarez was a large favorite in both of those bouts opening at -850 for each matchup. However, he closed at -500 to -750 versus Coria and closed at -400 to -500 against Castaneda.
Emmanuel Navarrete Fights
Emmanuel Navarrete has had a mixed bag over his last five fights. He fought Oscar Valdez twice over that span and won both of them. Their first bout was in August 2023, and Navarrete won via decision. Their rematch came six months ago and Navarrete won via 6th round KO.
In between those two bouts, “Vaquero” scored a majority draw against Robson Conceicao in November 2023, and lost to Denys Berinchyk at lightweight in May 2024.
Following that loss, Navarrete came back down to 130 pounds to fight Valdez. That was his only foray into the lightweight division.
Navarrete is highly motivated for this upcoming fight. He made the following comments about Suarez and the fans in San Diego:
“I’m at a new stage of my career, and I’m fired up for another defense of my world title. This fight motivates me. Suarez is undefeated and dangerous. He’s ranked No. 1 in the world for a reason. He’s exactly the kind of challenge that fuels me. I owe the fans in San Diego a win, and on May 10, I’ll settle that debt with a dominant victory.”
Vaquero is referring to the last time he fought in this San Diego venue. That was his bout against Berinchyk that he lost via split decision 113-115, 116-112, 116-112.
Emmanuel Navarrete Odds
As expected, there’s plenty of betting data regarding Vaquero’s boxing career. He’s been a favorite in four straight fights, if you include this weekend’s clash. Navarrete opened at -550 odds and now sits in a range of -400 to -600.
The last time that Vaquero was an underdog came in his first matchup against Valdez where he closed at +155 to +200. Prior to that, you would have to go all the way back to his 2018 bout against Isaac Dogboe where he was a +550 to +600 underdog. Navarrete won that fight via unanimous decision and also took the rematch six months later via 12th round TKO.
Charly Suarez vs. Emmanuel Navarrete Predictions
Suarez can be a tough opponent this weekend for Navarrete just like we saw last weekend with Rolly Romero upsetting Ryan Garcia and Ramon Cardenas giving Naoya Inoue all he could handle for seven rounds.
Or, Navarrete could come into this bout in great shape, with a solid fight plan, and find the stoppage. By all accounts, it seems that Vaquero is highly motivated for this matchup.
Suarez hasn’t faced anyone on the same level as Navarrete. He’s also never been hit by a power puncher the caliber of Vaquero. Suarez will be in for a shock on Saturday. I expect the champ to retain his title in convincing fashion.
Bet: Emmanuel Navarrete (-400)
The Best Charly Suarez vs. Emmanuel Navarrete Prop Bets
Check out the following Charly Suarez vs. Emmanuel Navarrete prop bets:
Will Fight go the distance?
- Yes (+120)
- No (-155)
The oddsmakers are favoring this fight to end inside the distance. If Navarrete is at his best, then it should end inside the 12-round limit. If he’s not, then this could be an ugly fight that goes the distance. I’m choosing to believe that Vaquero is ready for the challenge and will end the bout inside the distance.
Bet: No (-155)
Method of Victory
- Navarrete via TKO/KO/DQ (-120)
- Navarrete via decision (+200)
- Suarez via TKO/KO/DQ (+800)
- Suarez via decision (+600)
- Draw (+1800)
As you can see from above, I am taking Navarrete to win inside the distance which means TKO/KO. Suarez has never been stopped in his pro career, but he’s facing his toughest test to date.
Furthermore, Navarrete has put away 32 of the 42 opponents that he has faced. The 82% knockout rate gives me confidence he can pick up the 33rd KO of his career.
Bet: Navarrete via TKO/KO/DQ (-120)
What’s Next For The Navarrete vs. Suarez Winner?
Whether it happens or not, junior lightweight contender Andres Cortes is throwing his name in the ring to face the winner of this bout. In fact, he believes that Navarrete will win and wants to fight Vaquero for the title.
Additionally, Cortes proclaimed that he would go toe-to-toe with the champ for 12 rounds:
“I would have been willing to go toe to toe with Navarrete for 12 rounds. I think that’s what the fans want to see. We could have delivered a fight of the year.”
If this bout doesn’t come to fruition, then maybe we’ll see Navarrete chase after one of the other belts in his weight class. The IBF title is currently vacant as of this writing. If Vaquero wants to prove he’s the best in this division then going after the rest of the gold makes perfect sense.
