NBA Trade Deadline Predictions
The following predictions are based on the rumored players being discussed at the NBA Trade Deadline:
Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee Bucks
Giannis Antetokounmpo is the top trade target this season. However, unlike the Luka Doncic trade controversy of last year, everyone knows that Giannis is available.
This is a dramatic shift from one of the NBA’s top players. In years past, he would always reject trade ideas. Now, he’s not only open to it, Antetokounmpo wants it.
Currently, there are no odds for his move. However, the rumors are running wild as teams like the Golden State Warriors, New York Knocks, Miami Heat, and Minnesota Timberwolves are all circling and trying to land as franchise-changing player.
It’s expected that teams would need to add multiple 1st round picks along with young starting-caliber players.
Anthony Davis – Dallas Mavericks
- Atlanta Hawks (+200)
- Chicago Bulls (+250)
- New York Knicks (+450)
- Golden State Warriors (+500)
- Toronto Raptors (+800)
It didn’t even take a year before the Mavericks gave up on Anthony Davis following the controversial trade of Doncic for Davis. While the big man is injured and out of action for the near future, Dallas has been listening to offers for the talented, injury prone star.
Nevertheless, Atlanta, Detroit and Toronto are teams rumored to be interested in Dallas’ key trade asset. The Hawks have actually been in the news as of late, with a possible package surrounding veterans and picks for Davis.
As of now, I would bet on Atlanta making a move for Davis over any of these other teams. They seem to have more trade assets that Dallas would want.
Bet: Atlanta Hawks (+200)
Ja Morant – Memphis Grizzlies
- Sacramento Kings (+200)
- Miami Heat (+300)
- Toronto Raptors (+400)
- Milwaukee Bucks (+500)
- Brooklyn Nets (+500)
While no official offers have been reported as of yet, Morant has been making cryptic comments online. Additionally, the buzz is growing as we get closer to the deadline.
Currently, Miami and Sacramento are the two frontrunners to land Morant. The former is potentially willing to put in Tyler Herro and picks. The latter would only make the move if Memphis took on salary like DeRozan or Lavine.
Considering the unlikelihood of that scenario happening, you have to like Miami being more aggressive to land Morant if he’s truly dealt.
Bet: Miami Heat (+300)
Michael Porter Jr. – Brooklyn Nets
- Detroit Pistons (+200)
- Golden State Warriors (+300)
- Phoenix Suns (+400)
- Milwaukee Bucks (+500)
- San Antonio Spurs (+600)
This might be the hardest player to predict. Michael Porter Jr. has been rumored to be interested by half the league at one point. However, the Nets have not made him officially available as of this writing. He’s averaging a career high in scoring and can space the floor, which would be attractive to many contenders.
Detroit has been rumored to offer two firsts (2026, 2028), Tobias Harris and Caris LeVert. The Warriors want to send Moody, Kuminga, Hield and a 2027 first. The Bulls are a team on the hunt, as well. They are rumored to send a package with Huerter, Essengue, Collins and a 2026 first.
As of now, I don’t see Porter being moved unless it was a package that the Nets couldn’t refuse. And, the ones above, won’t land the star player.
Bet: No Bet
Jaren Jackson Jr. – Memphis Grizzlies
- New York Knicks (+300)
- Golden State Warriors (+400)
- Detroit Pistons (+500)
- Toronto Raptors (+700)
- Los Angeles Lakers (+900)
The Lakers are dreaming if they think they can get Jackson Jr. They don’t have the draft firepower that these other teams do.
However, Golden State is a team to watch for when it comes to JJJ being on the move. The same trade package for Porter, is rumored to be on the table for Jackson. I do see Memphis pulling the trigger on that deal instead of Brooklyn due to their lack of young stars and draft capital compared to the Nets.
Toronto will be in the running for many rumored players on the move, but I don’t see it happening since nobody wants their high-salary players like Poetl.
If you are to bet on this prop, take the Warriors. Yet, I think there’s a better chance that JJJ stays and Morant gets dealt especially since they have some decent young guards already.
Bet: Golden State Warriors (+400)
Karl-Anthony Towns – New York Knicks
- Orlando Magic (+300)
- Golden State Warriors (+400)
- Cleveland Cavaliers (+500)
- Charlotte Hornets (+600)
- Detroit Pistons (+600)
As of now, there are no official reports that New York is even interested in trading Karl-Anthony Towns. The talented big man is a key component to the Knicks and a huge reason why they have a real shot in the Eastern Conference.
It would take a massive haul to land KAT and of these teams, only Charlotte could produce something that would fit New York’s need due to draft capital and young players.
With that said, this is a No Bet for me. New York won’t move Towns.
Bet: No Bet
Domantas Sabonis – Sacramento Kings
- Toronto Raptors (+300)
- Golden State Warriors (+400)
- Charlotte Hornets (+500
- Memphis Grizzlies (+600
- Boston Celtics (+600
- New York Knicks (+800
As a depressed Sacramento Kings fan, and longtime Sabonis fan since his Gonzaga days, it really is pathetic that the franchise finds itself in this mess. They already made a trade to ship out Schroeder and Ellis. DeRozan, Lavine and Monk are all higher priorities to be moved than Sabonis.
And, yet, the All-Star center has had the most buzz as of late. Toronto has been the one team that Sacramento has reportedly talked to about framework for a trade. While they have not officially said he’s available, a move to the Raptors has more steam than any other team on this list.
Toronto is rumored to send Barrett, multiple firsts, and Poetl. The holdup for this deal is the fact that Sacramento does not want an injured, overpriced center in Poetl. They prefer young players and picks. If this deal gets done, it will be due to Toronto changing out Poetl or getting a third team involved who would take the center.
Odds are that Sabonis stays in Sacrament. However, if you want to take a flier on his departure then go with Toronto.
Bet: Toronto Raptors (+300)
Zion Williamson – New Orleans Pelicans
- Chicago Bulls (+150)
- Golden State Warriors (+300)
- Sacramento Kings (+500)
- Miami Heat (+600)
- Phoenix Suns (+600)
- Los Angeles Lakers (+600)
There are rumors of teams inquiring about Zion Williamson’s availability. As of now, New Orleans prefers to keep him rather than ship him out. However, of these teams with odds to get him, I think Chicago and Sacramento could be options depending on the asking price.
While I would list this as a No Bet, the rumored Porter trade package of Huerter, Essengue, Collins and a 2026 first could be a nice starting point for New Orleans who are still in a rebuild. Perhaps White being added instead of Collins would make this deal more palatable.
Bet: No Bet
Jonathan Kuminga – Golden State Warriors
All last summer, and at the end of 2025, Jonathan Kuminga was one of the top names being talked about in regards to a trade. The Sacramento Kings were trying to land him but Golden State balked and re-signed Kuminga with the hopes of trading him at the deadline instead.
Well, that doesn’t look good for Golden State right now. Kuminga has been injured and in Kerr’s dog house over the first half of the season. Furthermore, Sacramento has seemingly moved on instead of trying to land the young forward.
As of now, there are no odds for Kuminga to be moved. We’ll see of that changes as we get closer to the deadline. Also, his name is being rumored as a piece to trade packages for players like Giannis, Jackson Jr., and Porter, rather than an individual asset.
James Harden – Los Angeles Clippers
While there are no betting odds as of this writing, talks of a James Harden trade are heating up. In fact, reports have come out over the last 24 hours that the team is in active discussions with Harden about a possible trade.
The veteran star holds veto power over any trade. So, he will have to be on board with the move. Up to this point, Harden wasn’t making waves over leaving the Clippers.
LA coach Tyronn Lue has publicly dismissed this news, while teammates of Harden have reacted with shock. At 36, Harden has proven to still be very productive and could be a key asset for a team that thinks they could win an NBA Title with him on board.
This is the calm before the storm, as Harden has been a deadline tornado in years past. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that the Clippers look to get younger pieces back to surround Leonard and Zubac with more talent.
Other Players That Could Be Moved
There are a number of players that could be on the move, if you pay attention to the rumors and current situations with their respective NBA teams. The following players fit the bill but not a complete list:
Cam Thomas (Nets): Bird-rights complicate this situation but the talented scorer could be a welcome addition to any Playoff contender, if it’s at the right price.
Lauri Markkanen (Jazz): Utah isn’t actively shopping him, but framework exists for a possible deal as he’s been rumored to be traded for the last few years. Yet, the Jazz would require a large package of assets and it would hinder their lengthy rebuild already up to this point.
Ochai Agbaji (Raptors): His expiring contract and reduced role makes him movable. He’s been talked about as part of larger trade packages for players like Sabonis.
Tyus Jones (Magic): After signing a one-year deal with Orlando, Jones could be on the move. He’s a low-cost role player that could help cap-strapped teams add depth at the deadline.
Khris Middleton (Wizards): He’s the perfect example of a salary shedding move. Yet, the Wizards are weighing whether or not it actually helps the team now or if they rather have the salary space after the season. They would want young players and picks, which I don’t see many teams offering for a pending free agent.
Jordan Poole (Pelicans): The high-volume shooter went to NOLA last year. Unfortunately, the move didn’t pan out for the Pelicans or Poole. He’s now buried on the bench and seemingly out of the rotation as the team looks for potential trade candidates. There’s a small chance that he could be moved as part of a package for another scorer.
