On Friday, July 11, two of the top fighters in women’s professional boxing will step in the ring for a third time as Amanda Serrano challenges Katie Taylor for the undisputed super lightweight championship.

These two superstars last met in November 2024, on the undercard of the heavily criticized Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul event. Taylor has won both fights via the scorecards. However, there were some claims that Taylor fought dirty in the last fight.

Prior to their highly-anticipate rematch, the two boxers had already committed to a trilogy fight regardless of the outcome.

Their first bout came on April 30, 2022, live from Madison Square Garden. That was a historic fight as it marked the first time that two women boxers main evented at MSG.

Let’s take a look at the latest Serrano vs. Taylor odds, courtesy of the top sports betting sites, and make our Serrano vs. Taylor predictions for their exciting trilogy fight.

Serrano vs. Taylor First Fight

The first bout between these two stars took place on April 30, 2022. It was a historic moment for the sport of boxing and billed as “For History.” In fact, it was arguably the biggest women’s boxing match of all-time.

The result was – “instant classic.”

Ring Magazine dubbed it the Event of the Year and Sports Illustrated proclaimed that it was the Fight of the Year.

The bout itself was a 10-round fight with two-minute rounds. Taylor came in one pound heavier at 134.6 pounds to Serrano’s 133.6 pounds. Each competitor easily came in under the 135-pound limit.

The event created such a buzz that even the WWE got involved in the pre-fight hype. WWE superstars Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch both participated in the weigh-ins. Taylor was introduced by Lynch, who is a fellow countrywoman. Serrano was introduced by Belair.

After all the hype, and all the punches, was said and done, the bout went to the judges where Taylor won via split decision with the scores of 96-93, 97-93, 94-96.

Many fan polls and pundits proclaimed that it was a Draw at worse for Serrano. Needless to say, the result sparked a demand for a rematch.

Serrano vs. Taylor Second Fight

It took nearly two and a half years before these stars would step back inside the ring to face each other. This time around, the bout took place on Netflix at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It was the co-main event of the Tyson vs. Paul debacle of a fight.

Like the first bout, this rematch went the full 10 rounds. In the end, the judges scored the fight 95-94 for Taylor, who won by Unanimous Decision.

Once again, this fight delivered on the hype. In fact, it was such a hard-fought rematch that both women were giving 30-day medical suspensions due to injuries sustained in the fight.

Ultimately, Taylor was able to counter Serrano’s pressure with solid defense and well-timed punches. Some critics said that Taylor fought dirty. I didn’t see it that way. I thought that Taylor won this fight, unlike the first bout.

Amanda Serrano Recent Fights

In between the two bouts with Taylor, Serrano would go on to compete in five other fights.

Five months after Taylor, Serrano would defend her undisputed featherweight crown against Sarah Mahfoud who was 11-0 at the time. Serrano would go on to win via unanimous decision with the scores of 97-93, 97-93, 99-92.

In February 2023, Serrano would defend that crown against Erika Cruz Hernandez (15-1) and beat her via unanimous decision as well. However, the scores were slightly better: 97-93, 97-92, 98-92.

Six months later, Serrano crushed Heather Hardy (24-2) via unanimous decision with the scores of 100-90, 100-90, 99-91. She basically won every round.

Serrano’s last bout came in October 2023, where she competed at 12 rounds of two-minute time limits. She would defeat Danila Ramos (12-2) via unanimous decision with scores of 120-108 on all three cards. Once again, Serrano swept all of the rounds.

Serrano would drop back down to a 10-round fight, but go up in weight when she took on Stevie Morgan (14-1) in July. This time, Serrano would win via 2nd round TKO.

Amanda Serrano Odds

According to Pro Boxing Odds, Serrano opened as an underdog in this trilogy fight just like she did in the first two bouts against Taylor. However, as of this writing, Serrano is the betting favorite just like in the rematch.

Serrano closed as the underdog in the first fight with odds ranging +110 to -170. She closed as the favorite in the rematch with odds ranging from -225 to -270. This weekend, Serrano is the favorite with odds at -150 to -175.

Katie Taylor Recent Fights

Following the clash against Serrano, Taylor would fight three more times. However, her road was tougher. In fact, Taylor would end up suffering the first loss of her professional career.

Six months after fighting Serrano, Taylor would defeat Karen Elizabath Carabajal (19-0) via unanimous decision with the scores of 98-92, 99-91, 100-91.

However, after that fight, things took an unexpected turn for Taylor and the sport of boxing. In May 2023, Taylor lost via majority decision to Chantelle Cameron (17-0) with the scores of 94-96, 94-96, 95-95.

This fight came about because Serrano suffered an eye injury and a rematch couldn’t take place. So, Taylor decided to go up in weight and challenge Cameron for the undisputed super lightweight crown.

Six months later, Taylor got her rematch against Cameron. This time, the Irishwoman got her revenge and won via majority decision with the scores of 95-95, 98-92, 96-94. Those are some interesting scores and two judges basically were at opposite sides of the spectrum.

Katie Taylor Odds

In her first fight with Serrano, Taylor was listed with odds in a range of +147 to -125. Taylor opened as a -180 favorite over Serrano in the rematch, but they dropped significantly as she ended up a big underdog of +190 to +225.

As for the trilogy fight, Taylor opened as the favorite with odds of -146, but is now listed as the underdog at odds ranging from +120 to +143.

Serrano vs. Taylor 3 Predictions

I picked Taylor to win the first two fights, and I’m sticking with her for the Trilogy bout this weekend. These two women are so evenly matched that it can go either way. However, I really like the value that Taylor offers.

I think Serrano is the perfect opponent for Taylor because she allows the champ to counter, show off her defensive skills, and use pinpoint accuracy to rack up the points.

Like the first two bouts, this one will be another close outcome with Taylor picking up the victory.

Bet: Katie Taylor (+140)

The Best Serrano vs. Taylor Prop Bets

The following Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor prop bets are courtesy of BetUS:

Over/Under 8.5 rounds

  • Over 8.5 (-900)
  • Under 8.5 (+550)

Just like with the books and the best handicappers, I also have no doubt that this bout will go over 8.5 rounds. These two women have fought twice already, and both bouts went the full 10 rounds. You can mark this one down as another Over but there’s no value.

Bet: Over 8.5 (-900)

Will Fight go the distance?

  • Yes (-700)
  • No (+425)

19 of Taylor’s 25 bouts have gone the distance. The first two fights between these superstars have gone the distance. So, there’s no reason to think that this trilogy fight won’t go the full 10 rounds.

Bet: Yes (-700)

Method of Victory

  • Serrano via TKO/KO/DQ (+450)
  • Serrano via decision (-110)
  • Taylor via TKO/KO/DQ (+1900)
  • Taylor via decision (+175)
  • Draw (+1200)

As you can see from above, I believe this fight will go the distance just like their first two encounters. Once with the judges, I am taking Taylor to squeak out a split decision victory. In my mind, this series is tied one apiece even though Taylor won both of the first two bouts. I still believe that Serrano won that first fight.

Bet: Taylor via decision (+175)

Betting on Rounds

  • Either Winner in rounds 1-2 (+2200)
  • Either Winner in rounds 3-4 (+1400)
  • Either Winner in rounds 5-6 (+1200)
  • Either Winner in rounds 7-8 (+1200)
  • Either Winner in rounds 9-10 (+1400)
  • Fight To Go The Distance (-700)

If you have read up to this point, then you have seen that I believe this bout is going the full 10 rounds just like their first two fights. These athletes are evenly matched and have 20 rounds of fighting against each other. In other words, they already know what to expect from the other. I don’t see either woman winning inside the distance.

Bet: Fight To Go The Distance (-700)
