I’m not sure what everyone was hoping for going into UFC Vegas 111, but there’s virtually zero chance they came away disappointed. That is, unless they suffered through a lot of losing UFC picks.
The card itself was majestic, though. The main card delivered beyond my personal hopes and dreams, with five of six fights ending via stoppage, while the main event was as electrifying as it gets.
You’re here for the latest UFC results, so let’s not waste any time. I’ll get you up to speed as far as who the UFC Vegas 111 winners were, and also breakdown the performance of the night bonus winners.
UFC Main Card Results
| Winner | Loser | Method of Victory | Round |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gabriel Bonfim | Randy Brown | Knockout | Round 2 |
| Joseph Morales | Matt Schnell | Submission | Round 1 |
| Uros Medic | Muslim Salikhov | Knockout | Round 1 |
| Chris Padilla | Ismael Bonfim | Knockout | Round 2 |
| Christian Leroy Duncan | Marco Tulio | Knockout | Round 2 |
| Jamall Emmers | Hyder Amil | Decision | Round 3 |
The main card at UFC Vegas 111 was absolutely nuts. Gabriel Bonfim is known for his elite wrestling and submission game, but he does have a background in boxing. He only had three career KOs compared to 13 submissions, but he used a surprise knee to rock Randy Brown.
I had Bonfim winning and thought he was an insane value at his -180 price tag, but I have to admit I really didn’t think he’d win via KO. Brown was at risk to do that, and I pegged Bonfim as a submission win. Regardless, he made good on his billing as the favorite and you walked away with some money if you bet on him.
I handed out more winning UFC betting picks elsewhere, as I was all over a Uros Medic KO. The guy is so violent and borderline reckless, though, that I did fear he could be finished just as easily. However, he dominated and ended his match with the aging Salikhov in round one.
Joseph Morales was another fighter I had winning and he got us yet another thrilling finish when he took advantage of Matt Schnell with a guillotine choke in the first round.
I noted that Christian Leroy Duncan was a major threat to knock out Marco Tulio, and that’s exactly what happened. Unfortunately, I pegged Tulio as the winner and he worked to drop my UFC picks to 3-3 for the main card.
The other loss I suffered was when Jamall Emmers gutted out a Decision win over Hyder Amil. I was very high on Amil as a KO winner and he simply could not punch Emmers out.
The main card was ultimately a wash for me, but all of these fighters were priced decently, so it wasn’t bad overall. Remember, don’t forget to combine my MMA picks and analysis with some insight from the best sports handicappers every week.
UFC Preliminary Card Results
| Winner | Loser | Method of Victory | Round |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raoni Barcelos | Ricky Simon | Decision | Round 3 |
| Jacqueline Cavalcanti | Mayra Bueno Silva | Decision | Round 3 |
| Josh Hokit | Max Gimenis | Knockout | Round 1 |
| Denise Gomes | Tecia Pennington | Decision | Round 3 |
| Daniel Marcos | Miles Johns | Submission | Round 2 |
| Zachary Reese | Jackson McVey | Submission | Round 2 |
I didn’t hit a lot of UFC upsets this past weekend, but Raoni Barcelos did help me out by getting the Decision win against Ricky Simon. I had him pegged as the winner at welcoming +140 odds and he found a way to get it done.
Cavalcanti was a hefty -265 betting favorite and was one of the safest bets going into UFC Vegas 111. I didn’t list her among my best bets due to the price and the fact that I did not see that fight ending early, but if you were with me and targeted her ML, that was another winning pick to add to the pile.
I was also all over wins for Marcos and Gomes. They both delivered, as Gomes out-worked Tecia Pennington in a Decision victory and Marcos submitted Miles Johns in round two.
Robert Valentin didn’t end up fighting Jackson McVey, so kudos to Zachary Reese, who took the fight versus Jackson McVey on short notice. He responded with a slick submission win, forcing the tap out with a rear-naked choke.
The safest bet of the night was always Josh Hokit, who was the biggest favorite of the slate at -400. I said in my write-up that he was a lock to win, but targeting him at that price wasn’t something worth doing. Instead, I suggested targeting the fight to finish inside the distance – and that’s precisely what happened as he dominated Max Gimenis en route to his seventh finish in seven fights.

Fight Of The Night
A running trend has been the absence of a Fight of the Night winner, and I understand why that happened at UFC Vegas 111. On one hand, we really did not have an epic brawl in any of these fights, while it is also very difficult to bypass so many explosive finishes.
In fact, some fighters arguably got snubbed. Uros Medic had an awesome finish and he wasn’t a bonus winner, while Daniel Marcos and Chris Padilla both scored impressive wins via stoppage.
If you had to award a FOTN candidate, I think it would be Emmers vs. Amil. Although, Amil was supposed to win and maybe even dominate, so it ultimately was a disappointing bout.
Performance Of The Night
Naturally, we had four performances of the night bonus winners, with each fighter claiming $50,000 in prize money.
Josh Hokit’s win shouldn’t have been that surprising. He was making his official UFC debut, but he had already displayed elite versatility and reliable finishing ability. He definitely deserves credit for dominating and more than living up to his -400 price, though.
Zachary Reese and Christian Leroy Duncan deserve emphatic nods, too. Reese took over for Robert Valentin on short notice and scored a nice submission win in round two. Leroy Duncan was a known KO threat, but it was still a little shocking to see him pull off spinning backfist KO. That made it two straight fights with a spinning knockout and handed him his third win in a row.
Of course, the big one is Bonfim, as he put an 18-1 record on the line and exceeded expectations with a dominant win against a solid opponent. He was fully expected to win this thing on the mat, but shocked us all and closed UFC Vegas 111 in style with a thrilling knee KO.
