UFC 315 lived up to expectations this past weekend, largely since it wasn’t very predictable. The co-main events definitely did not disappoint, although we saw one title belt change hands.
With so many great fights, a ton on the line, and bets being placed, it’s time to reflect on all of the KOs, submissions, and gritty showdowns. Here’s a look at how our UFC picks played out, as well as interesting notes about some of the fights.
UFC Main Card Results
Winner | Loser | Method of Victory | Round |
---|---|---|---|
Jack Della Maddalena | Belal Muhammad | Decision | 5th round |
Valentina Shevchenko | Maron Fiorot | Decision | 5th round |
Aiemann Zahabi | Jose Aldo | Decision | 3rd round |
Natalia Silva | Alexa Grasso | Decision | 3rd round |
Benoit Saint-Denis | Kyle Prepolec | Submission | 2nd round |
The main card had some really great fights, with four of them going down to the wire. The co-main events went the distance, with one champion relinquishing their title belt.
That was none other than Belal Muhammad, who opted to throw punches with the aggressive Jack Della Maddalena. Known more for his takedowns, Muhammad simply did not take advantage of his edge in this fight, and even when he did, JDM’s elite defense proved to be the difference-maker.
In the other championship bout we saw the favored Maron Fiorot get out-classed by Bullet. Valentina Shevchenko was definitely tested throughout, but her defense and well-rounded skill-set allowed her to edge out her opponent on points.
This was a nice value pick that the best handicappers and myself saw coming. Anytime you can get a champion priced like that in a potentially advantageous setting, it’s tough not to pounce on it.
Benoit Saint-Denis had the only win by stoppage on the main card. He faced Kyle Prepolec, who deserves a standing ovation for taking this fight on such short notice. He stood tall against a superior opponent, but ultimately succumbed via tap out in the second round.
UFC Preliminary Card Results
Winner | Loser | Method of Victory | Round |
---|---|---|---|
Mike Malott | Charles Radtke | Knockout | 2nd round |
Jasmine Jasudavicius | Jessica Andrade | Submission | 1st round |
Modestas Bukauskas | Ion Cutelaba | Decision | 3rd round |
Navajo Sterling | Ivan Erslan | Decision | 3rd round |
Marc-Andre Barriault | Bruno Silva | Knockout | 1st round |
Daniel Santos | Lee Jeong Yeong | Decision | 3rd round |
Bekzat Almakhan | Brad Katona | Knockout | 1st round |
The UFC 315 Prelims were weirdly a bit more exciting than the main card. No doubt about it, the main card had bigger names and closer battles, but the Prelims had the show-stopping endings.
Mike Malott KO’d Charles Radtke in the second round to give us our first finish of this card, but the Prelims had three other fights end early. The most compelling one had to be Jasmine Jasudavicius submitting Jessica Andrade.
This was a fight where some pegged Jasudavicius as vulnerable due to Andrade’s toughness, experience, and striking, but she countered that with her elite wrestling and finishing ability.
Bekzat Almakhan also made quick work of Brad Katona, giving us one of the best finishes of the entire UFC 315 card.
Marc-Andre Barriault had the third KO of the Prelims, as he finished Brun Silva in the first round.

- Performance of the Night 1: Jasmine Jasudavicius
- Performance of the Night 2: Marc-Andre Barriault
Fight Of The Night
The fight of the night at UFC 315 should shock nobody, as the main event between Jack Della Maddalena and Belal Muhammad did not disappoint in the least.
Some were sad to see Muhammad lose his title belt, but it was his mistake to stand and trade blows with an arguably more explosive striker. On top of his vicious striking, JDM dictated the pace and spacing in this fight, while his stellar defense kept Muhammad’s superior floor game at bay.
Performance Of The Night
- Jasmine Jasudavicius
- Marc-Andre Barriault
I was honestly shocked to see a lot of betting against Jasmine Jasudavicius coming into UFC 315. Jessica Andrade has visibly regressed over the years and her finishing ability isn’t as scary as it once was. Jasmine had also been pretty dominant lately, and at UFC 315 she was super aggressive and was able to earn a finish, notching her fifth straight win in a row.
It’s safe to say Marc-Andre Barriault earned his spot with Jasmine when it comes to getting a Performance of the Night nod, though. Not only did the 35-year old snap a three-fight losing streak, but he did it in convincing fashion, as he worked Bruno Silva to the ground and knocked him out in round one.
