On Saturday, May 24, the WWE will be live from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, for the 39th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The last SNME show took place in late January, and it was a solid show that got us on the Road to WrestleMania. This weekend’s SNME show is a fallout from all of the happenings that transpired at WM 41 and the following weeks.

This SNME lineup screams “must see” television as there are several grudge matches in the lineup. Additionally, this event comes the night before NXT Battleground and AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday, May 25.

Jey Uso will defend his world title against Logan Paul, while Gunther is clamoring for his rematch. If you recall, Gunther beat Uso at the January SNME, but lost to Uso at WM 41.

John Cena and R-Truth will battle it out after Cena had some harsh words and fists for Truth. Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre should have their blow off match as they settle their long-running feud in a steel cage match.

Also on the card is CM Punk and Sami Zayn battling Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. Since WWE brought Saturday Night’s Main Event back last December, there has been a women’s match. As of this writing, there is no women’s match booked. That could change this week.

WWE Saturday Night Main Event will have an 8pm ET start time on NBC and Peacock. Let’s take a closer look at the available WWE odds, courtesy of the top sports betting sites, and make our WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event predictions.

Following the May 19 episode of RAW, the remaining betting lines were released for SNME. So, as of this writing, all of the confirmed matches have odds. And, as expected, John Cena is a massive betting favorite.

Jey Uso’s odds have increased as we move through the week. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker remain a sizable favorite in their tag-team match. And, lastly, Damian Priest has opened as a larger favorite than expected for his upcoming steel cage match against Drew McIntyre.

With that said, keep reading below to see our match-by-match SNME predictions and how they compare to some of the best handicappers around.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Predictions

The following WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event predictions are for the confirmed matches as of this writing:

World Heavyweight Title Match

  • (c)Jey Uso (-1000)
  • Logan Paul (+500)

The Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul feud has intensified over the last few weeks. Paul is doing his best to get under Uso’s skin and bring some much-needed belief to his challenge for the world title.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to believe that Paul will win the world title this weekend. Especially since Uso just captured the belt at WrestleMania 41 last month.

Waiting for his rematch, Gunther is causing chaos everywhere he goes and I wouldn’t be surprised if we somehow end up with a triple threat match between these three competitors at some point.

As for this weekend’s bout, take Jey Uso to retain his title. Yet, somehow, I don’t see the Paul storyline ending anytime soon.

As for the odds, Uso went from -800 to -1000 and Paul went from +425 to +500 following RAW. I expect these numbers to increase as we get closer to the show.

Bet: Jey Uso (-1000)

John Cena vs. R-Truth

  • John Cena (-5000)
  • R-Truth (+1000)

It must be repeated that this is a non-title match. John Cena will not defend his championship against R-Truth on Saturday night. However, that doesn’t make this match any less entertaining. In fact, it opens the door for some shenanigans to occur.

First, R-Truth showed up at Backlash and prevented Randy Orton from punting Cena. This allowed Cena to hit his AA on Orton and pick up the victory. Then after the match, he hit the AA on Truth through a table at the Backlash Presser.

A few days later, R-Truth announced that he would take on Cena at SNME. It was quickly stated that this match would not be for the title. And, because of that, the WWE is trying to get you to believe that R-Truth has a shot at winning.

When R-Truth first started his “Little Jimmy” gimmick and smoking, he was “over”. It was the perfect time for the WWE to give Truth a massive push as his standing with the fans has never waned since then. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

So, now, we have another opportunity to see Truth get a massive win over Cena and the WWE is leaving the door cracked so that the fans think it could happen. Let’s face it, if this match were for the title, nobody and their mama would think R-Truth can win.

As much as I hated Cena winning the world title at WM 41, I really do like the various chapters in his farewell tour. If WWE can keep up these mini-feuds (chapters) throughout the year, then 2025 will definitely be a magical run for Cena and the company.

Can R-Truth defeat his “childhood hero”?

Unfortunately, I’m not confident that Truth will win the match. However, I am willing to take a flier on him as an R-Truth victory could send Cena into a few different storyline directions especially if someone comes out to interfere.

Play it safe and take Cena to win. However, if you ever loved Little Jimmy, then you should take a flier on R-Truth.

Bet: R-Truth (+1000)

Steel Cage Match

  • Drew McIntyre (+170)
  • Damien Priest (-260)

This rivalry began over a year ago and it has continued in one form or another since Damian Priest cashed in his MITB contract at WM 40 last year, and took the belt from Drew McIntyre.

Although the two men didn’t engage in many matches last year, following Priest’s victory, their feud reignited this year. In fact, the two men have blazed their way through SmackDown and several PPVs this year with their hatred for each other.

We thought their rivalry would end at WM 41 after McIntyre won the Sin City Street Fight. Instead, they ended up as part of a 4-Way match for the US Title at Backlash. And, it has continued to the point where Priest challenged McIntyre to a steel cage match at SNME.

Last year, at Bad Blood, McIntyre and CM Punk wrapped up their massive feud in a Hell in a Cell match. Punk won that match and the feud.

It would be just like the WWE to have McIntyre lose another big-time steel cage match nine months later. My hope is that the WWE creative brain trust can see the foolishness in McIntyre losing another steel cage match in another bitter feud.

Oddsmakers believe that Priest will win this match as they have him listed as the sizable favorite. And, after McIntyre won at WM 41, it would seem likely that Priest wins this encounter.

I’m going to defy the standard WWE formula and cross my fingers that The Scottish Psychopath picks up the victory on SNME. If you are going to follow me on this wager, then wait until closer to the event because I expect these odds to grow in favor of Priest.

Bet: Drew McIntyre (+170)

WWE Tag-Team Match

  • Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker (-500)
  • CM Punk & Sami Zayn (+300)

John Cena winning the world title at WM 41 over Cody Rhodes was the biggest story to come out of the promotion’s top PPV of the year. Yet, my favorite storyline to come out of WM 41 was the alliance between Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman.

Although there were some hints that this could happen, it was definitely a pleasant outcome for the triple threat match. It also breathed new life into Rollins and Heyman. Then, adding Bron Breakker to their alliance was a brilliant decision.

Breakker is someone that I have been pounding the table for, in regards to the WWE moving him up to the main event level. He’s a second-generation wrestler with an incredible amount of talent. I believe the alliance with Rollins and Heyman will help put Breakker into the next stratosphere within the WWE.

As for this match, Sami Zayn has had a history with feuding against Breakker, while Punk has had his issues with Rollins stemming back to his return at Survivor Series in 2023. Sprinkle in the Punk-Heyman history, and you have a powerful storyline that has led us to this tag-team match.

As for the odds, the sportsbooks clearly feel that Rollins and Breakker will win the match. I have a hard time coming up with reasons to think otherwise. Shoot, look above and you will see that I’m pulling for two upsets despite how they go against the grain, the odds, and conventional WWE wisdom.

With that said, I think that Zayn is eating the pinfall in this match as the Heyman-led group will find an underhanded way to pick up the victory.

I expect these odds to grow in favor of the heel duo as the week goes on. So, right now would be the optimal time as their line will probably double by Saturday.

Bet: Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker (-500)

Saturday Night’s Main Event Results

The following is a quick recap of the recent SNME events:

SNME 38: January, 25, 2025

Women’s World Title MatchRhea RipleyNia Jax
Intercontinental Title MatchBron BreakkerSheamus

World Heavyweight Championship MatchGuntherJey Uso

SNME 38 emanated from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. The following is a quick recap of the event along with my predictions:

Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu was a -2000 favorite for this match. However, Braun Strowman (+750) scored the victory via disqualification and upset our prediction as well.

Women’s World Title Match

Rhea Ripley was the biggest favorite of the show at -7500 odds. She was defending the Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax (+1400). And, as expected, Ripley won this match via pinfall.

Intercontinental Title Match

Bron Breakker (-500) and Sheamus (+300) were booked in a “hoss fight” over Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship. My prediction heading into the show:

“Like with Fatu, I expect Breakker to get that elevation to main event status after WrestleMania. The odds are still low enough to find small value with Breakker retaining the IC belt.”

Breakker won the match and is now teamed up with Rollins and Heyman. Although he’s not a world title contender following WM 41, Breakker is part of the biggest non-Cena storyline in the company.

Singles Match

LA Knight and Carmello Hayes wasn’t on the radar when writing the preview and prediction piece for this SNME. With that said, Knight won the match via pinfall in roughly five minutes.

World Heavyweight Championship Match

Gunther (-2000) successfully defended his world title against Jey Uso (+750) at SNME. He picked up the pinfall in less than 17 minutes. Following this match, Uso would go on to win the men’s Royal Rumble, challenge Gunther at WM 41 for the title, and dethrone The Ring General as the world champ.

SNME 37: December 14, 2024

Undisputed WWE Championship MatchCody RhodesKevin Owens

As mentioned, the most recent SNME was held on December 14, 2024, at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

By time the show was finalized, there were six total matches if you count the Dark Match (untelevised). Otherwise, the televised portion saw five bouts.

I went a perfect 5-0 in my WWE predictions for this event. The following is a quick recap of the results with some quotes from my predictions for each match:

Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre

“As for this weekend’s SNME bout, the oddsmakers got it right. Take McIntyre to win a competitive match, which will put him back into contention for whatever title he chooses.”

McIntyre was a -700 betting favorite over Sami Zayn (+400). McIntyre would go on to win via pinfall at the 10:05 mark. It was a bit surprising that the match was this short, considering how much Zayn had been pushed.

Women’s US Championship Match

At the time of publication, I wasn’t able to get odds for this bout. However, I got the prediction right by taking Chelsea Green who won via pinfall at the 8:05 mark.

“Heading into the tourney, including all the way up until the Semifinals, I was picking Stratton to win it all. She’s the perfect candidate for this mid-card title. Yet, the same could be said about Green. And, with the help of Niven, I expect Green to walk away as the inaugural Women’s US Champ.”

Women’s World Championship Match

This really was one of the easiest matches to predict. Liv Morgan was a -5000 favorite against Iyo Sky at +1000 odds. Morgan would win via pinfall at the 9:05 mark.

“As stated above, Morgan has the biggest odds for the entire SNME card. Yet, the WWE wants us to pretty much believe that Sky has a real shot at winning, despite knowing that Morgan isn’t dropping the title to her or anyone else until next year. Further cementing the outcome is the fact that Sky isn’t a believable world champion right now considering the other names that Morgan could drop the belt to.”

World Heavyweight Triple Threat Match

This was a good match between three top competitors. However, I didn’t see a scenario where Gunther (-300) would lose to Finn Balor (+800) or Damien Priest (+1000) despite what the oddsmakers listed them at.

“With that said, I don’t see Gunther dropping the title until closer to WrestleMania next year. He’s a legit champ with plenty of value to the fans and WWE programming. Priest and Balor are not at his level of on-air credibility right now. I see Gunther taking advantage of the bad blood between Priest and Balor to pick up the victory and moving into 2025 as the champ.”

Undisputed WWE Championship Match

In the show’s most heated rivalry, Cody Rhodes (-500) successfully defended his title against Kevin Owens (+300). It wasn’t hard to predict this outcome:

“As for this match, it’s really crazy that Rhodes’ odds aren’t much higher. You can book The American Nightmare as your champ until at least the 2025 WrestleMania. Right now, there isn’t anyone to take the belt off of Rhodes other than Reigns or Punk. And, that wouldn’t happen until a major event like Royal Rumble or WrestleMania.”
