Editorial Policy

This page says how Scores and Stats predictions, guides and reviews are made, who stands behind them, and what happens when one turns out to be wrong. Anyone reading a betting prediction should be able to find that out in one place.

What we publish

Predictions: written ahead of a game, from form, team data and the current market. A prediction is our opinion at the time of writing, not a forecast of the result.
Betting guides: how markets, odds and bet types work.
Sportsbook and service reviews: assessments of operators and handicapping services.
Odds and market data: shown as supplied by our data providers and updated as lines move.

Where the information comes from

Our writers work from official league and competition data, published team information, and live odds from the sportsbooks and data providers the site is connected to. Every figure in a piece should trace to one of those sources, with the date it was read.

Odds move. A price quoted in an article was accurate when it was written and may not be now, so check the current price at the sportsbook before acting on anything you read here.

How a piece is produced

Research: the writer gathers form, injury news, the history between the two teams and the current market.
Draft: the analysis is written with the reasoning shown, not just a verdict.
Publication: the piece goes live with a visible date.
Review: an editor reads the published piece for factual accuracy, clarity and compliance with this policy, and anything wrong is corrected on the page.
Update: when the event a piece covers has moved on, the piece is updated or retired. After a game, its prediction becomes a record of the result, with the pick we made left as it was published.

Some routine game pages are generated from a data feed rather than written one by one. They exist so that every game has a page with the numbers on it. They are not presented as our written analysis, and our predictions are where our opinion lives.

Corrections

We correct mistakes in the open. If a published piece contains a factual error, we fix it and note that it was changed, and we do not quietly delete or rewrite something that has been read.

Independence from commercial relationships

Scores and Stats earns money from affiliate relationships with sportsbooks and picks services. Those relationships do not decide what we publish, how we rate an operator, or which side of a game we favor.

A commercial partner does not get a better review for being a partner. Where we criticize an operator we work with, the criticism stays.
No sportsbook, advertiser or partner sees or approves editorial content before it is published.
A prediction is never chosen to suit a commercial arrangement.
Where a piece is sponsored or paid for, it is labeled as such. Anything not labeled is our own.

What our content is not

It is not betting advice, financial advice, or a guarantee of any outcome. It is information and opinion, published so that readers can make their own decisions.

No one can predict a sporting result reliably. Treat any source that claims otherwise with suspicion, including any part of this site if it ever reads that way.

Age and responsible play

Our content is for readers of legal gambling age in their own jurisdiction. Betting should be entertainment, and only with money you can afford to lose.
