2021 Ally 400 Odds, Picks and Betting Preview

It’s been almost four decades since the highest level of NASCAR raced in the Music City. Now the Cup Series is set to make a return to Nashville, Tennessee and a familiar name is the favorite. Nashville Superspeedway will host all three of the NASCAR Series. The Camping World Truck Series and Xfinity Series will kick things off with the Cup Series running Sunday afternoon.

The last time the Cup Series raced at Nashville the venue was the old Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. The Superspeedway was built outside of the city in Lebanon TN and hosted Truck, Xfinity, INDY, and ARCA races from 2001 to 2011 when Dover Motorsports shuttered the facility. Now – they’ve moved one of their dates back to the Music City and the weekend is a Sell Out!

NASCAR Betting Sites

What’s interesting is that this is the second race in the last few weeks where no historical Cup Series data is available for the venue. Every Cup driver that last raced a Cup race in Nashville has long since retired and it was on a different track! That means that oddsmakers are looking at current driver trends and their results on similar speedways.

That puts the hottest driver in the sport at the top of the favorites list! Kyle Larson comes in at +275 well distanced from Chase Elliott who hits the weekend at +650.

Only five drivers come in under +1000 and that’s perfect for listing a top-five favorites list! Here are the favorite drivers through +800 to win the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway outright according to Intertops.

Kyle Larson +275

Chase Elliott +650

Martin Truex Jr +750

Denny Hamlin +800

Kyle Busch +800

Before you stress out due to lack of stats for Nashville… there is something to pull from. The venue has never hosted a Cup Series event but it did host Xfinity (then Nationwide), the Trucks, and the ARCA Series. Past Nashville winners of those series include Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, and Austin Dillon.

2021 Ally 400 Predictions

Kyle Larson +275

The obvious favorite is Kyle Larson due to his incredible record this season. So far he has racked up three wins plus the All-Star win for an extra million bucks. The only reason that’s not counted as a fourth victory is that the All-Star race is not a points event. He’s also finished inside the top ten eleven times out of sixteen races. That’s hard to look past.

William Byron +1100

William Byron has a win on the season and seems to drive well on medium and large tracks. His win this season came at Homestead and he’s finished with eight top ten runs on tracks over a mile long. Two weeks ago at Charlotte, he placed fourth and led just under 20 laps. Byron is set to run in the Truck Series race as well to get some track time.

Kevin Harvick +1200

Who would have ever thought that Kevin Harvick would be a nice value pick? Harvick comes in down the favorites list at +1200 which may make him attractive to those looking for a better payout. As mentioned above, Harvick has a Nashville win in a different series but at least there’s some history at the track.

Others to Consider: I would love to see Kyle Busch (+800) return to victory lane in Nashville simply to see how he handles the trophy this season. Nashville is where he famously slammed his winning guitar trophy into the ground. Chase Elliott is +650 heading into the weekend. Elliott has a recent win from a few weeks ago but has been lingering in the top-five for several events unable to grab another win.
