Talk about a weird week in Vegas! Kyle Larson ran high on Bubba Wallace pushing him towards the wall and then Wallace wrecked Larson. The wreck snared Christopher Bell who won the week prior which helped him make it into the Round of 8 Playoffs.
Now Wallace is suspended for a race by NASCAR, Larson is already out of the playoffs, and Bell is at the bottom of the cutline due to being caught up in Bubba’s feud. All of this while the NASCAR Cup Series drivers head to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the Dixie Vodka 400.
What’s even weirder… Tyler Redick is once again one of the favorites to win this race and the outright favorite! Now, add the fact that Joey Logano – who won last week – is bundled together with several drivers coming in all at +1000. Logano did not get much of a push from last week’s win and that seems to be his story all season long.
Reddick comes in at +700 as the lone favorite with Denny Hamlin close at +800. Then things tighten up so much that I can only list three favorites to win outright this week due to the cluster coming in at +1000.
Here are the favorites with complete odds for the Dixie Vodka 400 listed below:
Tyler Reddick +700
Denny Hamlin +800
Ryan Blaney +900
Let’s look at Ryan Blaney! He has made it this far in the playoffs with only a handful of races left in the season without winning a point-paying race this season. Blaney is two spots below the cutline while being one of the favorites. This is because Blaney tends to run well on this type of track – aka – 1.5-mile ovals.

This is the second race in The Round of 8 – of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Sixteen drivers qualified to race for the Championship and eight have been eliminated so far. This round includes last weekend in Las Vegas, now Homestead/Miami for the Dixie Vodka 400. The final race of this round is the Xfinity 500 on the Martinsville short track. The season ends in four weeks with the Championship race at Phoenix.
2022 Dixie Vodka 400 Predictions
Ryan Blaney +900
Ryan Blaney is not a long-shot or darkhorse pick this week. Blaney comes in as one of the best drivers in the Cup Series to have not won a race this season. But he’s been a master at picking up stage points while being consistent with his finishes. That may translate to a win this weekend at Homestead / Miami. Last season he was shuffled back at the for a horrible 29th place run, but the race before at Homestead – he finished 3rd.
Joey Logano +1000
Joey Logano is one of several drivers coming in at +1000 this week. He was somewhat of an “under the radar” driver the last few weeks despite being at or near the top of the points during the playoffs. With the win, last week, will Logano and his team hold back and try some setup options that could help them in Phoenix? That’s a possible fade. This is not – Logano has six top-ten runs at Homestead in his last ten races at the track.
Kevin Harvick +1600
Kevin Harvick finally showed some sparks heading into the playoffs after a winning drought. Now Harvick has suffered through the playoffs after being wrecked out by other drivers among other situations. However, according to NASCAR Fantasy Stats, Harvick is one of the best active Cup drivers when it comes to Homestead. In his last ten starts at Homestead-Miami, Harvick has finished 10th or better nine times with 6 finishes inside 5th or better.
Others: Christopher Bell (+1100) has certainly become one of the better drivers in the sport. But he has already pulled off the “must-win” race. That’s a bunch of emotion expelled that could be hard to repeat. Martin Truex Jr (+1200) has great stats at Homestead that includes a win. But he’s not been in a winning position as of late. Still, it’s hard to push a former Cup Champion to the side.
