Formula 1 is back in action this week with the 2022 French Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc won his third race of the 2022 F1 season in Austria on July 10th 2022. Teams had last week off and will now head to Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, Var, which is near Marseille.
Max Verstappen (+110) is the favorite to win in France. Charles Leclerc (+170) and Lewis Hamilton (+650) are the only other drivers priced under 10/1 odds to win the 2022 French GP.

After not running between 2009-2017, the French GP was back on the F1 schedule in 2018.
Hamilton won the 2018 and 2019 French Grand Prix races. The race wasn’t held in 2020 (COVID-19) and Verstappen won the race last year. Will the favorite be able to repeat on Sunday?
Track Information
The French GP was first hosted at Circuit Paul Ricard in 1971. This will be the 18th time the race has been held at this track. The last three French Grand Prix races have been hosted here.
Drivers will complete 53 laps and the total race distance is 309.69 km.
Sebastain Vettel holds the record for the fastest lap at 1:32.740 in 2019.
The circuit will test drivers and there are ample opportunities for overtaking, which should make for an interesting race. In 2021, all drivers finished the race without anyone retiring.
2022 French Grand Prix Picks

This race will likely be a battle between the top two in the betting market.
Verstappen leads the 2022 driver standings with 208 points and he has won six of 11 races this year. He secured a 2nd place finish in Austria after starting in pole position.
Leclerc was able to overtake Verstappen several times in Austria and this track will give him opportunities to do the same if needed. Leclerc is 2nd in the driver standings (170 points) and can close the gap.
However, Leclerc has struggled on this track. He has finishes of 10th (2018), 3rd (2019) and 16th (2021) at Circuit Paul Ricard and it’s tough to bet on him to win the race with that information.
Could Hamilton pull off the upset at +650 odds? Hamilton won this race in 2018 and 2019. He finished in 2nd place last year, but he hasn’t won a race yet in 2022. He’s 6th in the driver standings (109 points).
We’re betting on Verstappen to repeat as the French Grand Prix champion.
Best Bet: Max Verstappen (+110)
