The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series kicks off the 2022 Playoffs with a twist. The running of the TSport 200 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway on Friday night marks the first time the Trucks have raced at this track since 2011. Most of the drivers in the field were only a few years old when that last race was held! What better way to kick the Championship run than by starting with a track that is a complete mystery to drivers?

It’s going to be a wild start to the Truck Series playoffs which are limited to only ten drivers as compared to 16 drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series. Matt Crafton, who is a three-time Camping World Series Champion, sealed his ticket to the playoffs last week with a great run at Pocono where he finished 15th after running towards the front for much of the day.
The complete list of Truck Series Playoff drivers is below with points – but first – who’s the favorite to win the TSport 200 outright? Here are the favorites to win outright:
Zane Smith +400
John H. Nemechek +450
Corey Heim +550
Chandler Smith +650
Carson Hocevar +800
It looks like oddsmakers are shaking off the fact that this is a new venue to almost all of the Camping World Truck Series field. A few drivers, such as Hailie Deegan, have turned laps at this track in the ARCA Series.

2022 TSport 200 Preview

Date: Friday, July 29, 2022, 9:00 pm EST
Track: Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Indianapolis, Indiana
Type: Oval, .686 miles, 4 turns with 12° banking
Race Distance: 200 miles, 137 laps
Defending Track Winner: Timothy Peters (2011)
TV/Radio: FS1 / MRN / SiriusXM
Lucas Oil Raceway is a short track that many fans know as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway short track. It is a typical short-track venue with a rough asphalt surface and only 12° of banking in the turns that level into near flat straights. Look for problems with tire wear, brakes and plenty of action on restarts.
2022 TSport 200 Picks
Zane Smith +400
Zane Smith comes into the opening race of the 2022 Camping World Truck Series Playoffs as the favorite. He’s won three races this season and has already captured the title of Regular Season Champion. The driver of the No. 38 Ford has also racked up nine finishes of 5th or better and 13 runs inside the top-ten. That’s out of 16 races run so far this season. Smith has been the most consistent driver in the Truck Series this year.
John H. Nemechek +450
John H. Nemechek could almost be considered a co-favorite this weekend. Nemechek made the decision last year to drop down from the NASCAR Cup Series following a rough rookie season in somewhat decent equipment. He gave up that Cup ride to jump into a well-funded Kyle Busch Motorsports ride with ties to Joe Gibbs Racing. The move has paid off for the last two years. Nemechek enters the playoffs with a win on his resume, a whole bunch of stage points, and possibly more experience than many drivers in the field.
Stewart Friesen +1200
Stewart Friesen has one checkered flag in the bank this year as well as plenty of finishes of 10th or better. He’s also been solid on short tracks this season. He finished 4th at Gateway which could be considered a similar track to Lucas Oil Raceway. His win this season came on a road course earlier this year at Fort Worth. His last eight races have included the win and five finishes of 9th or better.
Others: Grant Enfinger (+2000) is a driver that could rock the boat on Friday. He has 16 wins in the ARCA Series and six in the Truck Series. The Fairhope, Alabama Native would love to play the spoiler role as he’s often shuffled around in various Series when compared to better-funded drivers. The same thing can be said about Matt Crafton (+3000) even though he’s a three-time Champion in this Series. Crafton has put together a solid season in 2022 and once again is part of the Playoff picture.
