2023 F1 Bahrain GP Odds and Picks

The 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship gets underway this weekend, as the drivers and teams flock to the Middle East for the Bahrain Grand Prix. Accordingly, I have trawled the Formula 1 odds to unearth the best bets for the opening race.

Not only have I locked in my predictions for the race winner and winning constructor, but I have also backed drivers for both the top six and top 10. Without further ado, let’s dive into my 2023 F1 Bahrain GP picks.

2023 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix Predictions

Race Winner – Max Verstappen (-120)

To say that Max Verstappen dominated the 2022 Formula 1 season would be a colossal understatement. Indeed, the Red Bull superstar won 15 of the 22 races last year, finishing 146 points clear at the summit of the World Drivers’ Championship.

The two-time defending champion is favored to secure a memorable three-peat this year and he looks destined to kick-off the campaign with a victory in Bahrain. Given Verstappen’s recent dominance, odds of -120 are too tasty to ignore.

Winning Constructor – Red Bull Racing (-140)

Since I’m backing Verstappen to triumph on Sunday, it only makes sense that I also back Red Bull to claim the constructor’s bragging rights. After all, the new RB19 was easily the best car on track throughout preseason testing.

It is also worth noting that Sergio Perez clocked the fastest lap during preseason testing, outperforming Verstappen in that department. So, if Verstappen fails to clinch P1 in Bahrain, Perez could finish atop the podium.

How to Bet on F1 Racing

Top 6 – George Russell (-200)

George Russell established himself as “Mr. Consistency” last season, racking up 19 top-five finishes across 22 races. The Mercedes man also achieved eight podiums in 2022, including his maiden triumph at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

It’s fair to say that Merecedes is behind Red Bull and Ferrari – and perhaps Aston Martin – after preseason testing. Still, I’m confident that Russell will pick up where he left off last season and I expect him to finish in the top six this weekend.

Top 10 – Pierre Gasly (-110)

Having secured six top 10 finishes last season – including an impressive P5 in Azerbaijan – Pierre Gasly will be confident of taking Alpine to new heights in 2023, regardless of the team’s relatively quiet preseason testing performance.

Gasly now has plenty of experience in the bank, with 108 Formula 1 starts under his belt. Let’s not forget that he also boasts a race win, having triumphed in Italy back in 2020. At -110, the Frenchman looks like a great bet to finish in the top 10 on Sunday.
