The 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) season is scheduled to get underway on March 30th and the National League East looks destined to be one of the most exciting divisions this year.
The Atlanta Braves and New York Mets achieved identical records last season, while the Philadelphia Phillies made it all the way to the World Series. However, the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals flattered to deceive.
Here’s a look at all five National League East teams ahead of the new season, including odds and predictions.
New York Mets Team Preview 2023

The New York Mets managed to push the Atlanta Braves all the way last season, as both sides registered 101 wins and 61 losses. However, the Mets finished second in the standings after losing the season series against the Braves.
The Mets haven’t won the NL East since 2006, with their last World Series triumph coming all the way back in 1986. Still, they will be confident of achieving success in 2023, especially with experienced pitcher Justin Verlander on board.

The Atlanta Braves have topped the NL East in each of the previous five seasons and they also managed to win the World Series in 2021. With that in mind, it is surprising that Atlanta is the bookies second favorite to win the NL East title in 2023.
With superstars such as Kyle Wright, Austin Riley and Kenley Jansen leading the way – and manager Brian Snitker tied down to a new contract – the Braves look set to enjoy even more success this year.

Although the Philadelphia Phillies finished third in the NL East last season, they managed to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres during the postseason before suffering a 4-2 defeat to the Houston Astros in the World Series.
Thanks to the recent additions of big-name players like Trea Turner, Taijuan Walker, Craig Kimbrel and Gregory Soto, the Phillies will fancy their chances of going all the way this year.
Miami Marlins Team Preview 2023

The Miami Marlins have never won the NL East title and have failed to finish higher than fourth in four of the past five seasons. Having finished the 2022 campaign with a record of 69-93, the Marlins will struggle to improve on last season’s fourth-place finish.
Washington Nationals Team Preview 2023

To Win the World Series (+40000)
The Washington Nationals topped the NL East in 2016 and 2017 before winning the World Series in 2019. However, after finishing rock bottom of the standings with a record of 55-107 last season, they are not expected to contend for the division title.
