Dallas Mavericks @ Indiana Pacers Preview
Total: 217.5 Points
Since Dallas now has Kristaps Porzingis in the lineup, it’s safe to assume that they are one of the toughest NBA teams to beat. Having a 7’3 guy for 25-35 minutes a game is an advantage few teams can really possess. Most of the guys taller than 7’0 aren’t in the rotation, and are generally found at the end of the bench. Giving Luka Doncic his Porzingis back makes this a high-scoring team, the same unit that led the NBA in efficiency last season.
Indiana is a bit short-handed with Myles Turner and TJ Warren out, plus a delay in Caris LeVert’s debut after a mass was found on his kidney. But still, the Pacers have Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon, and that is enough to have them rolling up the points most nights. Doug McDermott is shooting lights out this season, and should actually be a significant contributor moving forward.
Bet the over. No question. Bet the over. 217.5 is attainable.
Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Clippers Preview
Total: 231.5 Points
Tuning into a Kings game is generally something that can wind up as a great decision, or a poor one. The last time they took the floor, DeAaron Fox exploded, putting up a 40+ point, 10+ assist evening, lighting up the scoreboard at every turn. But some nights, the team is just overmatched and unable to win.
The Clippers are a team expected to go out and compete for the title, falling monumentally short by losing in round two last season. They retooled a bit, and it seems that the addition of Nicolas Batum has been a major positive for them. If only they hadn’t re-signed Marcus Morris to a semi-expensive long-term deal. They have two reserves each making $16 million a year, with Morris and Kennard.
The teams will smash the over, which should be set at 240. Bet it. OVER.
Memphis Grizzlies @ Portland Trail Blazers Preview
Grizzlies vs. Trail Blazers ATS Pick
Total: 222 Points
It has been a very up-and-down start for the Grizzlies, starting out 7-6. Given the fact that Ja Morant has missed eight games, Jonas Valanciunas has gone in and out of the lineup and also that Jaren Jackson Jr. hasn’t debuted, this is not too shabby at all. Just like last season, they are proving to be a scrappy team, capable of filling up the scoreboard.
Portland doesn’t have CJ McCollum in the lineup, leaving a lot of pressure on Damian Lillard to step up even more. And with Jusuf Nurkic out 6-8 weeks, their rim protection is going to drop off a bit. But, Enes Kanter is playing well thus far as a starter, and they have plenty of scoring options.
Bet the over, because both short-handed teams will be struggling on the defensive end. The 222 is nothing.

San Antonio Spurs @ Golden State Warriors Preview
Total: 226.5 Points
While it’s a shame that the Spurs-Warriors battle won’t be on National TV, it is a great time for a matchup like this. San Antonio is a young team, with 3/5 of their starters being younger than 24 years of age, LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan taking the other spots. To see them at 8-6 when Derrick White has played in just one game is a great sign. It’s unclear how many years of Coach Pop are left, but they are not wasting any.
Golden State meanwhile is 7-6 after a slow start to the year. They are coming off a win over the defending champion Lakers, in which Steph Curry hit a three from about 30 feet out to clinch things. This is a dangerous team, and has been fantastic since Draymond Green returned to the floor. We can’t ignore them. The Warriors are coming.
Bet the over. Two effective offenses are battling. 226.5 is easily attainable
