Washington Wizards at Memphis Grizzlies Picks

Wizards vs. Grizzlies Betting Report

Best Bet: Wizards ML (+125)

The Wizards and Grizzlies met in D.C. just before the All-Star break, with the Grizzlies winning 125-111 on the road. Now, with the teams meeting in Memphis, look for the Wizards to get their revenge and earn the win.

Oddly enough, few teams were playing better than the Wizards heading into the break. Washington won seven of its last 10 games, which included victories against the Lakers, Clippers, and two against the Nuggets.

The Wizards’ improved play has pushed their record to 14-20, just a game-and-a-half out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Wizards, who play at the league’s fastest pace, have the two best players in the game in their lineup. Bradley Beal is averaging a league-leading 32.9 points per game on over 48 percent shooting. The sharp-shooting guard scored just 23 points against Memphis last week, the second-lowest point total he’s had all season, so expect him to do better this time around.

He’s joined in the backcourt by Russell Westbrook, who is once again averaging close to a triple-double. Westbrook is averaging 20.3 points with the second-most assists in the league at 9.8 to go with 9.7 rebounds.

Memphis has second-year point guard Ja Morant, who had 35 points and 10 assists last time out against the Wizards. But the Grizzlies have also gone 7-11 at home this year, even worse than Washington has been on the road.

They will also once again be without key players like Jaren Jackson Jr. and Grayson Allen.

Bet the Wizards, the hotter team at plus money, to pull off the win on Wednesday.

San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks Picks

Spurs vs. Mavericks Betting Report

Best Bet: Mavericks ML (-185)

Two Lone Star State rivals will take the court in Dallas, about a month-and-a-half after the Mavericks won 122-117 in San Antonio. But unlike the other matchup of the evening, look for the home favorites to take care of business.

Dallas is another team that overcame a slow start and went into the All-Star break on a roll. Since falling to 9-14, which included a six-game skid, the Mavs have gone 9-2 since.

They capped it off with three straight wins, which included a blowout win in Brooklyn against the Nets. They now enter Wednesday in sole possession of eighth place with a chance to tie San Antonio for seventh place with a win.

The star of the game is Dallas’ Luka Doncic, who is seventh in the NBA with 28.6 points per game to go with nine assists and just under 8.5 rebounds per game. The third-year star went off for 36 points with 11 assists and nine boards in Dallas’ win over the Spurs, so look for similar production Wednesday.

Kristaps Porzingis also had 21 points against San Antonio, as the big man looks to keep his two-game double-double streak going.

Additionally, the Mavericks have the upper hand in several stats. They average two more made threes per game, along with having the advantage in true shooting and effective field goal percentages.

Both teams are also inside the top three for fewest team turnovers, so look for the team with the better offense to win, with the advantage going to Dallas.

The Spurs have a number of solid players, headlined by DeMar DeRozan, but look for Dallas to get a big game from Doncic at home. Take the Mavericks to win their first game back to keep their good times going.
