MLB Home Run Props Picks for Friday, September 9th 2022

Over this final few weeks of the 2022 MLB season, all eyes are on Aaron Judge. The Yankees slugger has 55 homers and is closing in on Roger Maris’ American League record of 61.

Philadelphia’s Kyle Schwarber is the closest competition for Judge and the Phillies slugger has 36 homers. Judge homered in four consecutive games before going homer-less in his last two.

Tonight, Judge will be in action against Tampa Bay and Rays pitcher Drew Rasmussen. Will Judge move closer to the record?

Here are the top MLB home run props picks for Friday, September 9th 2022.

AARON JUDGE – OVER 0.5 HRs (+195)

Rays vs. Yankees Picks

Judge looks to move closer to Maris’ AL record. The Yankees slugger didn’t homer in each of his last two games and he is due. He has only faced Rasmussen once in his career. Judge struck out in that appearance.

Rasmussen doesn’t give up many long balls, only 10 this season. He’s 9-4 with a very strong 2.70 ERA, but he has given up a dinger in each of his last two starts.

Judge gets the best of him tonight.

MLB Betting Lines

Seth Brown – OVER 0.5 HRs (+550)

White Sox vs. Atheltics Picks

Brown leads Oakland with 21 home runs this season. He has hit four already in September. Brown hit two against Baltimore on Sunday then homered back-to-back in losses to Atlanta on Tuesday and Wednesday. He did not hit one last night.

Tonight, Brown will face White Sox pitcher Lucas Giolito. The Chicago right-hander is 10-9 this season with a hefty 5.21 ERA. Part of Giolito’s problem this season has been his affinity for giving up long balls.

Giolito has allowed 23 home runs his season. He’s allowed four in his last two starts. Giolito gave up three homers to Kansas City last Tuesday. The Royals are not known for their hitting, much less power hitting.

Kyle Schwarber – OVER 0.5 HRs (+330)

Nationals vs. Phillies Picks

As mentioned, Schwarber is second in the majors in homers with 36. He has gone dry lately. Schwarber hasn’t hit a homer in September and he only had three for the month of August.

The Phillies slugger will have the perfect opportunity to get back on track tonight. He’ll face Washington’s Patrick Corbin. The Nationals left-hander’s numbers make you wonder how he is still a major league pitcher.

Corbin is 6-17 with a 6.28 ERA this season. Of all major league pitchers this season, Corbin ranks fifth in the number of home runs allowed – 25. He has given up at least one homer in each of his last six starts. Corbin has started 27 games this season. He has given up a dinger in 17 of those starts.

MLB Predictions

Austin Riley – OVER 0.5 HRs (+330)

Braves vs. Mariners Picks

The Braves slugger is tied for third in MLB with 35 homers. Riley started September with homers in three straight games. He’s hitting .285 and hasn’t homered in three straight games.

Riley will face a strong pitcher in Seattle’s Robbie Ray, but the former Cy Young winner does give up some dingers. For the season, Ray has given up 24 homers and he’s given up three in his last five starts.
