The New York Yankees continue to lead the majors in home runs with 147, 12 more than second-place Atlanta. The Braves are 14 ahead of third-place Houston and Milwaukee is fourth with 122. Rounding out the top-5 is Toronto with 115.
Aaron Judge is still the MLB leader in home runs with 30. He has been stuck on 30 since July 6 when he cracked that 30 th dinger in the Yankees 16-0 win over the Pirates.
Judge and three of the top-5 home run hitters in MLB are all in action today. Will any of them hit one today? Here’s a look at the best MLB home runs props picks for Thursday, July 14th 2022.
Aaron Judge – OVER 0.5 HRs (+205)
Judge is simply due. He’s only 3-for-20 over the last week and hasn’t hit a home run since July 6 as mentioned. Tonight, he will face Cincinnati’s Luis Castillo.
Castillo is 3-4 with a 2.92 ERA and he has been solid in his last two starts allowing one earned run each to Atlanta and Tampa Bay while pitching seven innings in both games.
Judge is 1-for-2 against Castillo in his career. Castillo has allowed two homers in his last five starts and Judge loves playing at Yankee Stadium. Seventeen of his 30 homers have come at home this season.
Austin Riley – OVER 0.5 HRs (+265)
Riley is fourth in the majors with 25 home runs this season. That’s the most of all third basemen yet Riley was passed over for the All-Star game.
Riley goes up against Washington pitcher Anibal Sanchez tonight. This will be Sanchez’s first MLB start this season. In fact, this will be the 38-year-old’s first start since 2020.
Riley is only 2-for-9 against Sanchez in his career, but the Braves slugger is on fire right now. Over the last week, Riley is crushing the ball. He is 12-for-30 (.400) with four homers and seven RBIs. Riley has hit a home run in four of the last five Braves’ games. He continues his streak tonight.
Jose Ramirez – OVER 0.5 HRs (+360)
Ramirez has 17 homers this season, but he has hit just one in July. That comes after a June in which he hit just three. The time to break the slump is tonight.
Ramirez has hit two of his home runs against Detroit this year. Tonight, he will face Tigers pitcher Elvin Rodriguez who has been a disaster for Detroit.
Rodriguez doesn’t have many MLB starts and started just two games in early June. The results were awful. He pitched 4.1 innings in each game and gave up a total of 18 earned runs. The Blue Jays tagged him for three home runs and the Yankees got him for four.
Corey Seager – OVER 0.5 HRs (+300)
Seager leads the Rangers with 21 home runs. He’s been hot as of late with homers in five straight games before not going yard last night.
He will face Seattle’s Marco Gonzalez who has given up 14 home runs so far this season. Gonzalez has started two games against the Rangers this season. Seattle lost both game and Gonzalez allowed a home run in each.
