The 2022 MLB season is quickly approaching its halfway point, which means a much-needed break is soon to arrive.
However, and more interestingly to fans around the league, it also marks the festivities associated with the All-Star Game. The break is highlighted by the big game itself, where the best players in the league will be honored. While those celebrations are still to come, there are certain players that are poised to shine during today’s games.
Here are the best player props to bet on Wednesday.
Shane McClanahan Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-116)
McClanahan has been absolutely outstanding thus far. 9-3 with a 1.73 ERA and 0.81 WHIP, on top of averaging 1.35 strikeouts per inning. At that rate, he would only need to last between five and six innings to go over his strikeout total. He is already practically guaranteed to do so.
The Red Sox have a few extremely capable hitters that will look to throw him off of his game. However, it’d take a miracle for him to lose the immaculate form he found over the past couple of months.
Aaron Judge to Hit a Home Run (+225)
The New York Yankees have lost three straight games and only won five of their last 10. For seemingly the first time in forever they are in a valley.
They are primed to bounce back against an inferior Cincinnati Reds team. Cincinnati will be starting Mike Minor. He has a 6.63 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and has given up 12 home runs in the campaign. Judge seems the most likely to benefit and should lead NYY back to winning ways Wednesday.

Ke’Bryan Hayes 2+ Hits (+280)
The Pittsburgh Pirates have been playing well lately, winning four straight and two against their upcoming opponent, the Miami Marlins. Hayes has been a standout during this stretch, recording at least one hit in his last three games. This included a three-hit outing.
He will have a worthy opponent in Pablo Lopez (2.91 ERA, 1,07 WHIP) facing him from the mound. However, he has a hot hand and deserves some trust here.
Tony Gonsolin Under 4.5 hits allowed (-148)
Talk about another excellent pitcher; Gonsolin is a flawless 11-0 with a 1.62 ERA and 0.80 WHIP. He is giving up a little over one hit every two innings.
St. Louis Cardinals have a nice star pairing of Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado. However, they do not have an imposing supporting cast, and Gonsolin should handle them.
Shohei Ohtani Under 7.5 strikeouts (-140)
Ohtani has been playing out of his skin recently. He’s thrown shutouts in his last four starts, all of which ended in wins. However, he is running into a red-hot Houston Astros squad.
With supreme offensive ability, they should struggle to make it look as easy as he has. He may still end the night with a nice stat line, but Houston should get to him at least a little bit and hold his numbers at bay.
