MLB Sportsbooks

Dylan Cease, who finished seventh last season, is currently third with 108. Cease leads the majors in strikeouts per nine innings (K/9) at 13.1.

None of the guys at the top of the MLB strikeout list are in action today, but several quality pitchers – Justin Verlander, Alek Manoah, and Sandy Alcantara to name a few – will be taking the mound.

Here’s a look at the best MLB strikeouts props picks for Friday, June 24th 2022.

Zack Greinke OVER 2.5 Ks (-145)

Greinke goes up against Oakland, which is one of the poorest hitting teams in MLB. Greinke isn’t having the best of seasons as he is winless at 0-4 and has a 5.05 ERA.

He does, however, have an 11.2 percent strikeout rate and is av

eraging 0.5 strikeouts per inning. That would mean he would need to pitch at least four innings tonight, which is highly likely.

The A’s have a strikeout rate of 23.5 percent and average 8.42 Ks per game. Greinke has topped this prop in five of his last seven starts.

MLB Moneyline Odds

MacKenzie Gore OVER 5.5 Ks (-108)

Gore is 4-3 with a 3.64 ERA this season. His last two outings were absolutely awful. Ironically, both came against Colorado. Gore pitched a total of 6.1 innings and gave up 14 earned in the two starts. Worst yet, he recorded just four strikeouts.

Prior to the two losses to the Rockies, Gore easily surpassed this prop with strikeout totals of 10, 9, 6 and 6. He’s hit this number in six of his 10 starts this season.

Tonight, Gore faces a Phillies lineup that strikes out at a 22.5 percent clip averaging 8.46 Ks per game. Gore is averaging 1.1 strikeouts per inning.

Sandy Alcantara – UNDER 5.5 (+120)

He’s the favorite to win the NL Cy Young award right now. Alcantara is 7-2 with a 1.72 ERA. He gives the Marlins a chance to win every time he takes the mound. That’s exactly what happened last time he started.

Alcantara beat the Mets, his opponent tonight, last week going eight innings while allowing just two earned runs. Miami won 6-2 and Alcantara wound up striking out eight.

This time around, the Mets have lineup has seen Alcantara once and will adjust. New York is also one of the more difficult lineups to strike out. The Mets sport a 19.9 percent strikeout rate. New York strikes out the fifth-fewest times per game (7.61) of all MLB teams.

MLB Moneyline Picks

Alex Cobb – OVER 4.5 Ks (+105)

Cobb has started nine games for the Giants this season. He’s 3-2 with a 5.62 ERA. The big ERA number comes from two horrendous starts against the Rockies (7 ER) and Mets (6 ER).

Cobb has hit this prop in five of his nine starts. He seems to bring his best against better lineups. Cobb struck out 10 against San Diego, 8 against St. Louis, and 7 against the Mets. He also recorded 8 strikeouts in a win over Cincinnati, his opponent tonight.

Cobb has a 27.2 percent strikeout rate and the Reds average 8.35 strikeouts per game. At plus-money, this is too hard to pass up.
