Another exciting Monday night in the NBA is coming. Now that the fantasy basketball playoffs are here, more people than ever will be tuned into the betting scene, looking to score big bucks on their favorite players’ teams.
Let’s look at some of the best NBA bets to place for Monday.
San Antonio Spurs at Washington Wizards Preview
Best Bet – Wizards (+1)
It has been an up-and-down year for the Spurs, who have been hovering around .500 for months. DeMar DeRozan has been a good leader on the nights he isn’t resting and when the rotation isn’t ever-changing due to a few injuries and veterans needing a day off.
Washington is on fire right now, having reeled off eight wins in a row. Russell Westbrook has silenced critics with 24 straight double-doubles (and 18 triple-doubles in that stretch). His running mate Bradley Beal scored 30+ points for the 26th time this season against Cleveland on Sunday. The Wizards are 19-7 in games where Beal scores more than 30.
The supporting cast continues to do enough for the Wizards. The Spurs won’t be the ones to end the streak. Bank on Washington making it nine wins in a row Monday.
Phoenix Suns at New York Knicks Preview
Best Bet – Knicks (+3)
The Knicks are hosting Phoenix on Monday in a game that every NBA fan should be watching. New York has won nine games in a row. They were under .500 when the streak began and currently sit at 33-27, battling with Atlanta for the No. 4 seed in the East.
Julius Randle is averaging 24 points and 10.5 rebounds per night, while RJ Barrett has improved his shooting and rebounding abilities.
Phoenix is as good as any team in the league this year. The addition of Chris Paul is helping to put them over the top. The Suns will have playoff games for the first time since 2010 in just three weeks, and it’s great to see for them. They have more than earned what has come their way.
But Monday night, they won’t be able to pull a win out of the hat. New York is on a tear and will stay hot for their 10th straight win.
Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat Preview
Best Bet – Heat (-5)
The Heat have a strong veteran group on their roster as it stands now. They made some changes since the year began and should be poised to give whichever opponent they play in round one a run for their money.
However, Miami hasn’t been able to find its footing for more than a few weeks at a time, suffering some ugly losses of late.
Chicago is a bit in shambles without Zach LaVine. They are now two games behind Washington for the final play-in spot. The team is lost night now, and it’s hard to say what can bring them back. A 106-101 loss against the Heat on Saturday didn’t help their playoff chances, and the Bulls are 13-17 on the road this season.
Expect Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo to put in dominant performances and take Miami to win big.
