The NBA is rolling and we love it. This is a league with a tremendous amount of parity. The dominant teams of recent days have gone by, well, they have indeed, gone by. Today, it seems that close to anybody, can beat anybody… when looking at the NBA and how to approach the spread, it’s no longer a decision about whether or not one team is capable of covering the set spread, but rather, whether or not the favorite can be beaten outright.
We have a solid lineup for your Christmas week, Monday evening. The lowly Rockets take on the Bulls, the even worse, Thunder, take on the Grizzlies, the Hornets face the Jazz, the Kings are set to do battle against Step and the Warriors, and the Spurs take a trip to visit the Staples Center, against that other team! Best NBA Point Spread Pick for December 20th
The Warriors are laying 13.5 points tonight against the Kings, is this too many? Let’s take a look. What have the Kings done lately? They have lost three of their last five games, however, they come into tonight having picked up a win yesterday against the Spurs, 121-114. On the 17th, they lost at home to Memphis, 105-124, they beat Washington on the 15th, 119-105, they lost in Toronto on the 13th, 101-124, then on the 11th, they lost to Cleveland, 103-117. Over the last three losses, the Kings have averaged 121.6 ppg, over the last two wins, they have averaged 120 ppg.
The Warriors come in having won three of the last five games – all on the road. On Saturday, they lost in Toronto, 100-119, on the 17th in Boston they picked up a tough win, 107-111, on the 14th against the Knicks, another win. 105-96, on the 13 against the Pacers, 102-100, then in Philly, they lost what was easily their worst performance of the year, 93-102. Overall, the Warriors are 24-6,14-2 at home and 18-10-2 ATS. We can’t deny the Warrior didn’t look like their usual selves against Toronto on Saturday night, but they are human and will lose every once in a while! It was a tough road trip. They have had a day to rest and back home. They torch the Kings tonight and Steph goes off!

Best NBA Money Line Pick for December 20th
The Clippers have put together a 3-game home winning streak, can they keep it going against the Spurs? The team had won four consecutive games until the loss in Utah on the 15th, 103-104, and the loss against the Thunder in OKC on the 18th, 103-104. We know that teams will often play for pride at home, but it’s bothersome to see the Clippers lose by one point to the Thunder. Oklahoma is not a good basketball team, the Jazz are very good, but here is the deal… the Clippers don’t show up in Utah and sure, they are expected to lose, but they don’t just lose, they get blown out by 21-points. They can’t show up against a good team on the road? Right now, this team is not a playoff team, they are struggling to stay consistent. At least show up against good teams, and it’s better to get blown out by a bad team than to lose by one point as they did to Oklahoma.
Had they lost by 17 in OKC, we could say, “ok, they had a bad night, an off game”, but to lose by 1-point says they didn’t put in the effort to pick up what should have been a reasonably easy win. This team is lacking in heart. The Spurs are inconsistent as well, they lose one, win one, lose one win one. They beat Utah, in Utah on the 17th, 128-126. They have lost three of the last five games which included a blowout against Denver, a blowout against Charlotte, and a 7-point loss in Sacramento, last night. The Clippers have a ton of injuries – including Paul George. That seals the deal for us.

Best NBA Over/Under Pick for December 20th
You may think that we love to play overs and ok, possibly there is some element of truth to this thought. We have all bet under the totals in untold numbers of NBA games, but is it fun? It’s not that exciting to bet on an under, ever. It’s much more fun to bet the over. You want the action; you want the scoring and it’s just easier to root for an over the total vs an under the total. If you do bet under, all-game-long you are sitting on pins and needles hoping nobody scores! Here is the thing, we look for value in an over or an under, where does the value lie, the over or the under? Here we go again, back to the Hornets and the driving reason is that their games have been flying over the total. Where is the value tonight in this Jazz vs Hornets matchup? The total is 236. Let’s look at the last five games.
The Jazz are scoring 118.8 ppg on average, they are allowing 106.8. The Hornets are scoring 114.6 ppg and allowing 124. The Jazz are favored by 12-points in this game and are 16-12-0 ATS, the Hornets are 18-12-0 ATS. The Jazz have lost two in a row, they lost to Washington 103-109, and to the Spurs, 126-128, for an average of 114.5 ppg, for 4.3 fewer points than their average. In the Hornets 3-losses, they have averaged 106 ppg, for 8.6 fewer points than their average. We know the Jazz are going to win this game, but we don’t know if they will cover the 12-point spread, this one could be close but we say they do indeed cover. They are too good to stay in a funk, and the Hornets are nothing special. We say this game is just like the Hornets/Portland game that ended in Portland winning 125-116. That game went to 241. Once again, we like the Hornets over the total.

Best Parlay Bet for December 20th
76ers vs. Celtics Prediction / Rockets vs. Bulls Prediction

For this game, we are going to the East coast, The Celtics face off against the 76ers at home in the Garden. They are coming off a nice win against the Knicks on Saturday, 114-107, and the game before was a hard-fought loss against Golden State, 107-111. The 76ers have fallen back into a funk after briefly picking it up.
They had a terrible start to this season and have been plagued with injuries. They are plagued again! The Celtics win this one at home. For the second part of this parlay, we are taking the Bulls after picking up a big win over the Lakers on Sunday. The Bulls have won three of the last five and have easily covered in the three games. They do have a plethora of injuries, so we will take them on the money line.
