The NBA Finals begin Thursday evening, as it’ll be the Golden State Warriors vs the Boston Celtics.
Let’s take a look at some prop bets!
Read our Celtics vs. Warriors game 1 preview.
Stephen Curry – Over 27.5 Points
This will now be Stephen Curry’s sixth time in the NBA Finals, but shockingly enough, he’s never won a Finals MVP Award.
Curry hasn’t shot very well over his last two games, putting up just 20 and 15 points in each of those games. However, he has had a week off after the Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.
The Warriors are going to play their usual brand of basketball where they try and open up Curry with tons of ball screens and give Curry the green light the minute he crosses the halfcourt line. Curry is also tremendous at moving off the ball, so expect the Warriors to look out for him in those instances.
With all of this said, expect Curry to come out extra motivated and hit the over.
Jayson Tatum – Over 28.5 Points
This will be the first-ever Finals game for Jayson Tatum, and while nerves could certainly be high, Tatum is the type of player who is great at blocking out the noise and just sticking to his usual game plan when it comes to scoring the ball.
Draymond Green will likely be tasked with shutting him down and Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson will likely be tasked with guarding him on multiple possessions.
Tatum will face his fair share of great defenders but expect him to make the proper adjustments and ultimately make a statement for his first-ever Finals game.
Klay Thompson – Over 20.5 Points
Klay Thompson has been magnificent ever since returning from a two-year absence with some of the worst injuries you could ever suffer, as his jumper and ability to get to the rim are still there.
He put up 32 points in the closeout game against the Mavs on 12-of-25 shooting from the field.
His attempts are certainly there, and with the Warriors moving the ball around so often, expect Thompson to get his fair share of touches and shoot whenever he has enough space.
Expect him to hit the over.
Jaylen Brown – Over 24.5 Points
Jaylen Brown has been a very consistent scorer next to Tatum, as he’s been great at finding his spots in the mid-range and at the rim. He is a huge reason why the Celtics were able to outlast the Heat, as he had a 40-point game.
He came up just short of this in his last couple of games, but that was because his threes weren’t falling. Expect that to change.
Draymond Green – Over 6.0 Assists
Draymond Green had nine assists in his last game, and with the Finals now here, expect Green to play high IQ basketball and look to find his teammates in their open spots, such as Curry and Thompson, and rack up the assists.
