With the NBA trade deadline on the horizon, ten games will played tonight. Bettors can find plenty of action including that on NBA totals.
The Rockets take on New Orleans. Houston has the third-highest Over percentage (57.7%) with a 30-22- 1 record to the Over. Will that trend continue tonight?
Here’s a look at the best NBA Over/Under picks for Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
Bucks vs. Lakers
Best Bet: UNDER 231 Points
In the last ten meetings between these two teams, the average total has been 218.1. Eight of the ten games have gone Under, including the last six straight. The two teams played earlier this season and Milwaukee won 109-102. Both teams have been hot lately and LeBron James is back in the lineup for the Lakers.
Regardless, both teams are in the top-15 in defensive efficiency. The Bucks are sixth in opponent field goal percentage. With these two battling each other, the total goes Under 231.
Celtics vs. Nets
Best Bet: UNDER 216.5 Points
There is simply too much to like about the Under here. Boston has the NBA’s best defensive rating since January. They have won five straight and seven of eight. In those eight games, the Celtics have held teams to a ridiculous 92.8 points per game.
The Nets will have none of their Big Three – Durant, Harden, or Irving – tonight. The total has gone Under in nine of Boston’s last 11 and each of the last five played on the road. Boston is also 28th in pace since the beginning of January. The Celtics will control tonight’s tempo and keep the total Under 216.5.
Knicks vs. Nuggets
Best Bet: OVER 219.5 Points
This game features reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. He hit 19 of his last 25 shots in games against the Nets and Pelicans scoring 27 and 25, respectively. He will go off against a Knicks team that doesn’t defend the paint well.
The Over has hit in 10 of Denver’s last 14 games and eight of the last 11 against the Knicks. New York plays solid defense and doesn’t score well (27th in scoring), but the total has gone Over in four of their last six games.
Rockets vs. Pelicans
Best Bet: OVER 224.5 Points
Houston does not defend well. They are dead last in the NBA giving up 117 points per game. The Rockets allowed 131 and 120 in their last two games.
The 120 they gave up was to New Orleans on Sunday night. Houston scored 107 and the total went Over. The Over is 4-1-1 in the Rockets last six games. The total has gone Over in each of the last five Rockets-Pelicans games.
Prior to this week, Rockets games had the second-highest total of any in the league. Rockets games averaged 225.4 points per game heading into this week. Their last two game totals were 227 and 237.
