The NBA’s second half continues with a number of teams in action. The team that has gone Over the total more than any other team this year – Minnesota – will play Golden State.
The team with the most totals that have gone Under – Dallas – will also be in action against the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. Both teams are among the top NBA Over/Under picks for Tuesday, March 1st 2022.
Detroit Pistons vs. Washington Wizards
Pick: UNDER 221.5
The Pistons have been putting up some points lately. The Over has actually hit in three of Detroit’s last four games.
With tonight’s total in the 220s though, the number is just too high for two teams that really aren’t all that explosive. Washington ranks 22nd in the league in scoring. Detroit is 29th. Putting both teams average point totals together gives us 210.5.
The last ten games in this series have ended with an average total of 219. When the two teams played on Feb. 14, Washington won 103-94 and the total went Under. Expect it to happen again.
Atlanta Hawks vs. Boston Celtics
Pick: UNDER 224.5
Boston is No. 1 in defensive efficiency since Jan. 1. They are No. 4 in points allowed per game after having a rare defensive lapse in their last game. The Celtics gave up 17 three-pointers to Indiana.
That isn’t going to happen again and the Hawks will be without one of their leading scorers, John Collins, again. Atlanta is eighth in the league in scoring and the Over is 5-2 in the Hawks last seven games, but they have played Boston twice already this season and both games have gone Under.
Boston’s last five games have gone Over, but four of the totals were under 217. This total is too high. Take the Under.
Golden State Warriors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Pick: OVER 231
The Warriors and TWolves are both in the top 10 in scoring. Minnesota is a bit suspect on defense where they rank 23rd in points allowed per game. As a result, TWolves games are among the highest- scoring games in the NBA this season.
The Warriors, 10th in scoring, had a recent defensive lapse where they gave up 111 or more points in five straight games. They continue to be without their top defender in Draymond Green. Andre Iguodala is out also.
The Over has hit in five of the Warriors last six games and in 16 of the TWolves last 20. Each of the last six head-to-head meetings has gone Over.
Dallas Mavericks vs. LA Lakers
Pick: UNDER 217.5
The Mavericks are the No. 2 defense in the league right now and they have won seven of their last nine games. In those nine games, they held six opponents to 101 points or less. Six of those last nine games saw the total go Under.
The Lakers are just 1-5 in their last six games. Aside from scoring 115 against Golden State, the Lakers offense has been mediocre at best. They scored just 95 points in a loss to New Orleans on Sunday.
In the Lakers last five games, the total has gone Under four times. The Under has hit in six of LA’s last eight home games and, in the series with Dallas, the Under has cashed in eight of the last 12 meetings. When the two teams played in December, the Lakers won 107-104 and the total went Under. Expect something similar tonight.
