With the Play-In Tournament wrapped up, the Playoffs are underway. We’re already into game 3 for some of the Round 1 teams, and the whole round looking to be wrapped up by next week.

The Best NBA Handicappers Last Week
The top five NBA handicappers at ScoresandStats.com went 27-6 last week, for an overall win rate of 81.8%. Together, they brought in $2,040 in profit. While it’s not a wild amount of money, it’s almost double what the handicappers brought in during the previous week.
SAS Insider is at the top of the leaderboard, as is only natural. Mario Deluca comes in second with a 5-wager win streak. It’s Rob Veno’s first time on the leaderboard, and he got here with a handful of spreads and one totals wager.

$500 From 5 Easy Wagers
Mario Deluca went 5-0 last week with his NBA wagers, lining his pockets with five crisp Benjamin Franklins.
How did he do it? Well, with a steady approach of spreads and totals priced at -110. For the spreads, Deluca wagered on the teams likely to win the games with a fairly close spread value. The most he wagered was a -7 on the Knicks. And for totals, he placed similarly conservative wagers.

I think the key takeaway here is that Deluca’s betting strategy is about making the most likely wagers without risking funds on moneylines. The Playoffs and Play-In tournaments are great betting opportunities, but for some teams, it’s the last possible chance at greatness for the season. Upsets are much more likely to happen in the post-season, so wagering close to the skin is one way to avoid costly losses.
Where We’re Betting This Week
The first round of the Playoffs are officially underway this week, with the West and East Conferences trying to weed out the worst teams.
We’ve got plenty of picks in for the games tonight, including handicappers betting both sides of the Magic and Celtics spread at -10.5 for the Celtics and +10.5 for the Magic.
We also have a handful of totals wagers in for the Heat and Cavaliers game, the over at 211.5 looking to be the most promising.
