College basketball betting is going to heat up for the next two months until a national champion is crowned in early April. Conference races have gotten tighter all throughout the country, and the bubble has gotten more crowded as well.
With so many important games taking place each day, college basketball betting is also getting more popular as well. Here are four bets to look at making for Tuesday, February 8th 2022.
Moneyline Underdog: Illinois Fighting Illini +220
The biggest game of the night takes place in the Big Ten Conference as the Purdue Boilermakers host the Illinois Fighting Illini. Purdue is a six-point favorite at home, and they also beat the Fighting Illini on the road this season.
This is a matchup of two teams that could win the national championship this season, and there isn’t much separation between the rivals. Illinois has an All-American in Kofi Cockburn, but the Boilermakers have size to throw at the big man.
This game is going to be extremely tight and could likely be decided in the final minute. Illinois will get some revenge by beating Purdue on the road on Tuesday night.
Spread Bet: Wisconsin Badgers +4.0
Wisconsin vs. Michigan State Picks
Another big game in the Big Ten Conference takes place in East Lansing as the Michigan State Spartans host the Wisconsin Badgers. Michigan State is a four-point favorite at home, but the Spartans have not been playing their best basketball of late.
Both teams are allowing just 66 points per game, and there won’t be a ton of points scored in this game. Michigan State has been the better offensive team, but the Badgers have a superstar in Johnny Davis.
This feels like a game that will be decided by one possession, and taking the four points is a way to go.
Game Total Bet: UCLA at Stanford OVER 134
The UCLA Bruins are still in the Top 25, but they have really started to slide over the past ten days. UCLA visits Stanford on Tuesday night, and the Bruins are 7.5-point favorites.
Stanford has had a disappointing season, and that should give UCLA a chance to pull away, but the best betting option in this game is to bet on the points. The over/under is set at just 134 points, and that seems really low considering UCLA is scoring nearly 80 points per game.
This is going to be a chance for UCLA to get back on track, and they do so by scoring points and making this OVER hit.
Parlay: Saint Mary’s Gaels -2.5 / UConn Huskies ML
Saint Mary’s vs. Santa Clara Picks / Marquette vs. UConn Picks
The Saint Mary’s Gaels will take on rival Santa Clara on Tuesday night, and this could be one of the best games of the day. Saint Mary’s has had the better season, but this rivalry has the ability to produce an interesting result.
UConn is at home against Marquette in a battle of Top 25 teams. The Huskies are seven-point favorites in that game, but that feels a bit too large of a spread for such a close matchup.
If you are planning on putting together a two-team parlay, then these are the teams to include. Take the Gaels -2.5 on the road and then add the Huskies moneyline in a win at home.
