There are plenty of basketball games on the college slate Wednesday night for people looking for something to bet on. Here’s a look at five picks for Wednesday night.

DePaul Blue Demons vs. Duquesne Dukes

DePaul vs. Duquesne Picks

Best Bet: DePaul +1

Duquesne revamped their roster completely from last season and are off to a strong 7-3 start. Duquesne will be eager to bounce back after seeing its seven-game winning streak halted by consecutive losses to Marshall and New Mexico State. However, the Dukes will be running into DePaul, which have played a tougher schedule.

DePaul is scoring 77.1 points per game, which ranks 94th nationally. The Blue Demons have won three of their past four games, including a win over Loyola Chicago. DePaul is 6-4 straight up and 5-5 against the spread. The Blue Demons will handle Duquesne its third straight loss.

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs. Louisville Cardinals

Western Kentucky vs. Louisville Picks

Best Bet: Louisville +8

The Cardinals not being good this season is an understatement. Louisville is 0-9 straight up and against the spread to start the season. The Cardinals games haven’t been particularly interesting either, as the over has gone 1-7-1.

Still, seeing the Cardinals as eight-point underdogs to Western Kentucky at home is pretty shocking. The Hilltoppers are a solid team that is off to an 8-1 start. Western Kentucky are limiting opponents to 63.6 points per game. Louisville is only averaging 56.

The Cardinals will make this an ugly game and cover against the spread for the first time this season. Louisville may still lose as well, but the Cardinals will have enough pride to keep it close.

UCLA Bruins vs. Maryland Terrapins

UCLA vs. Maryland Picks

Best Bet: Maryland -1

The Terrapins are one of the best surprises about the early college basketball season. This game against UCLA Wednesday night will be a true test for Maryland. The Terrapins opened the season 8-0 before dropping two straight games.

Maryland have been effective defensively, limiting opponents to 60.8 points per game, which ranks 28th nationally. Teams also only shoot 38.3 percent from the field and 27.6 percent from the 3-point line vs. the Terrapins. That spells trouble for UCLA.

College Basketball Predictions

Miami (OH) vs. Cincinnati Bearcats

Miami (OH) vs. Cincinnati Picks

Best Bet: Cincinnati -16.5

Cincinnati is off to an uneven start so far this season. The Bearcats are 6-4 overall and 6-3 against the spread. Cincinnati have covered four straight against the spread, including a game where it was favored by 23 over NJIT.

The Bearcats will host Miami (OH), which last played Division II California (Pa.). The Redhawks are 4-5 this season and will be overmatched by Cincinnati’s defense.
