With conference tournaments in full swing across the country, the college basketball season is heating up in a big way. If you want to add extra spice to the action, why not place some bets? Here are my top NCAA basketball picks for Wednesday, March 8th, 2023.

Texas Tech vs. West Virginia Picks
Best Bet: West Virginia Mountaineers -4.5 (-110)
The Texas Tech Red Raiders head into Wednesday’s game against the West Virginia Mountaineers on the back of three consecutive losses. As a result, the Red Raiders find themselves second from bottom in the Big 12 Conference with a record of 16-15.
On the flip side, the Mountaineers have won three of their last four games, with seven victories coming in their previous 12 outings. There is no hiding the fact that West Virginia is stronger than Texas Tech right now, so I’m backing the hosts to cover the spread.
Boston College Eagles at North Carolina Tar Heels

Best Bet: North Carolina Tar Heels -10.5 (-110)
Not only have the North Carolina Tar Heels won three of their last four games, but they have also won 10 of their previous 17. Consequently, they occupy seventh place in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a record of 19-12.
Granted, the Boston College Eagles have upped their game of late – winning four of their past five outings – but they still find themselves four places below the Tar Heels. With that in mind, I’m confident that North Carolina will notch a high-scoring victory on Wednesday.
Stanford Cardinal at Utah Utes
Best Bet: Stanford Cardinal PK (-110)
The bookies can’t seem to separate the Utah Utes and Stanford Cardinal, as the teams are priced evenly to triumph on Wednesday. That said, when you consider Utah’s recent form, all the signs point towards a Stanford victory.
Indeed, the Utes have lost each of their last five games, with seven defeats coming in their previous nine encounters. Since Stanford has picked up two wins across their past three outings, backing the Cardinal makes a lot of sense here.
Minnesota Golden Gophers at Nebraska Cornhuskers
Best Bet: Nebraska Cornhuskers -6 (-110)
Holding a woeful record of 8-21, the Minnesota Golden Gophers find themselves rock bottom of the Big Ten Conference. It is also worth noting that the Golden Gophers have lost 13 of their last 14 games and have won just two of their 17 encounters in 2023.
Although the Nebraska Cornhuskers sit third from bottom in the standings, they have a record of 16-15 following a run of six victories in eight outings. For that reason, I’m confident that Nebraska will cover the spread against Minnesota.
Virginia Tech Hokies at NC State Wolfpack
Virginia Tech vs. NC State Picks
Best Bet: Virginia Tech Hokies +3 (-110)
The NC State Wolfpack and Virginia Tech Hokies are separated by four places in the Atlantic Coast Conference, with NC State leading Virginia Tech. However, the Hokies are the in-form team heading into this showdown.
Not only have the Hokies won each of their last three games, but they have also won eight of their previous 13. The Wolfpack, by contrast, have lost four of their past seven encounters, so I’m backing Virginia Tech with a +3 advantage.
