The Minnesota Vikings (6-8, 3-3 Road) travel on the road this week to play the New Orleans Saints (10-4, 5-2 Home) after two straight losses. Two weeks ago they lost an ugly one in Tampa, 14-26, then followed up with a home loss to the Bears, 27-33.
Three weeks ago they managed an overtime victory against the Jaguars, and the week before, they secured a 1-point win over the Panthers. Overall, they have lost three of the last five going back to the Cowboys loss at home.
Honestly, we know the Saints are a better football team with better personnel, and better coaching. There is simply no argument about this, but what we see is a tired Saints team. They come into this affair having lost two in a row, however, those two losses came by way of the Chiefs and the Eagles.
Here is what we know: The Saints are crushing bad teams and it doesn’t matter whether at home or on the road. This team may not have the goods come playoff time, but they have the goods today, against the Vikings.
The Saints are scoring 28.4 PPG and allowing 21.2. They get after it enough on defense to beat the spread against a team such as the Vikings who allow 27.7 PPG. The Vikings are scoring enough at home and on the road to push the total over.
What makes this matchup interesting is that it’s the only NFL game today. Why not have a little fun and bet the 1st quarter, 1 st half, and bet on an individual team?
