Three teams can close out their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series on Wednesday night. Reigning champion Tampa Bay, Vegas, and the New York Islanders can all advance with a win. The Islanders and Lightning get a chance to do so at home while Vegas, which lost at home on Monday, will have to win on the road to end the series.
Where to Bet on the NHL Playoffs
Win or lose, there are a ton of potential NHL goal scorer props bettors can take advantage of on Wednesday. It all starts with a Panthers-Lightning clash in Tampa.
Nikita Kucherov (TB) to Score +116
Panthers vs. Lightning Predictions
The return of Kucherov has made the Lightning even better this postseason. The former league scoring champ and MVP is second in the NHL in postseason points with nine. He has three goals thus far and is one of hockey’s premier scorers. At +116 and with Kucherov’s ability, this is bet worth taking.
Alex Killorn (TB) to Score +185
Brayden Point is listed at +150 to score in Game 6, but he hasn’t scored a goal since Game 3. Killorn scored twice in Tampa Bay’s 6-2 Game 4 victory. He had 15 goals during the regular season.
With his odds at +185, it’s worth a shot on Killorn especially with the dysfunction in Florida’s goaltending. The Panthers went with 20-year-old Spencer Knight in Game 5. Knight responded with a 4- 1, but he is still the guy who was playing college hockey in March.
Jonathan Huberdeau (FL) to Score +220
Huberdeau is the leading point scorer in the postseason thus far. Only two of his points came on goals, but Huberdeau did score 20 goals this regular season and he has tallied at least a point in all five games thus far.
With that kind of activity, Huberdeau will surely be involved on Wednesday night as the Panthers try to avoid elimination.
Mark Stone (VEG) to Score First Goal +950
Golden Knights vs. Wild Predictions
This seems like a no-brainer. The second-leading goal scorer in the playoffs is listed at +950 to score the first goal in Game 6. Stone has scored in each of the last three games.
Vegas has two games to win one. There is little doubt they would like to end the series sooner rather than later. Stone could help the cause with a goal in a fourth straight game.
Sidney Crosby (PIT) to Score First Goal +950
Penguins vs. Islanders Predictions
The Pittsburgh Penguins are on the ropes and are going to have to battle back to force a deciding Game 7 back in Pittsburgh. To do so, the Pens need their star, Sidney Crosby, to step up.
Crosby has just one goal and one assist in the series thus far. With his and his team’s back against the wall, it’s time for Crosby to go into Superman mode. That begins with putting his Penguins up early with the game’s first goal.
Evgeni Malkin (PIT) to Score +235
In addition to Crosby, Evgeni Malkin hasn’t done much for Pittsburgh either in this series. Malkin has a single goal and two assists in five games. It’s time to change that.
This Game 6 is where Pittsburgh’s stars need to take over. That said, Malkin at +235 to score a goal is a prop bet worth taking as the Pens look to even up the series.
