NHL Handicapper Recap

Last week was a record week for the NHL handicappers here on ScoresandStats.com. With almost $4,000 in profit between them, it was the most profitable week of the NHL season so far this year.

Sal Lombardi Carries the Top Five

We’ve seen Sal up on the leaderboard before, but never with this amount of strength. He pulled out all the stops last week, going 31-19 betting on the NHL. And how much profit did he bring in? $1,814! That’s more than half of the top 5’s total weekly profit.

NHL Betting Results – February 2-4, 2025

Unsurprisingly, he did so with persistence and volume. He placed around 6-10 wagers per day last week, primarily focusing on moneylines. And he wasn’t just betting the favorites, either, he placed some underdog wagers that paid off. He bet the Jets in their bout with the Hurricanes, and he bet the Sabres against the NJ Devils.

So far this season, Lombardi has actually lost more wagers than he’s won:

But, he’s still up $1,420, which indicates that he wins underdog wagers more than he loses them because that’s how you get positive returns.

Still, I’d follow Sal’s advice hesitantly. He’s making money by betting volume, and not all bettors have the funds or the time to follow in his footsteps.

Top NHL Handicappers Last Week

Coming off a hot week 14, the top handicappers last week managed to up the ante. Sal put his nose to the grindstone and it paid off, but our other handicappers also made bank.

Overall, the top 5 NHL handicappers went 59-30 and had a collective 66.2% win rate. While that’s a modest win rate, their profits are anything but. Together they brought in $3,752 in profit, which, if I’m not mistaken, is the most profitable week of the NHL season so far. The only other week that got close was week 11, with $2,900 in profit.

Sports Hub Insider Could Have Been #2

Sports Hub Insider is one of the computer picks models that we’ve seen in the top five pretty consistently. Last week, they went 5-2 and won $328, narrowly making it into the top five

However, if you look at their wagers, they could have easily been number two.

If they had won the Penguins moneyline and the total on the Sharks v Kraken, total profit would have probably been around $655, putting them in second place.

Unfortunately, the Devils decided they weren’t taking any more losses after getting beat by the Sabres, and they took down the Penguins yesterday.

Where Our Money’s at This Week

Tonight, we’ll be watching the Bruins and Rangers game. A few of our handicappers got their picks in, and it looks like they’re voting for the Rangers moneyline at -170.

Tomorrow, we see the Devils and the Golden Knights face off. Both teams have a pretty similar stat line so far this season, and it’ll be good to see what comes of that game.

And Saturday, we’ll be checking out the Sabres as they play the Predators. As the worst team in the Eastern Conference, the Sabres aren’t expecting a chance at the Stanley Cup this year, but they’re dedicated to putting on a good show.
