With a total of 11 games on Saturday’s schedule, there is no shortage of attractive NHL player props to take advantage of. Accordingly, I have scoured the NHL odds to find the best bets on offer. Read on to discover my recommended picks.
Andrei Svechnikov – Over 0.5 Assists (-130)
The Metropolitan Division leaders host the bottom team in the Pacific Division on Saturday, as the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Anaheim Ducks to PNC Arena. While the Hurricanes have won 12 of their last 13 games, the Ducks have lost six of their previous seven.
Carolina’s Andrei Svechnikov has racked up 12 assists across his past 10 appearances, notching multiple assists on four occasions during that period. Having bagged two assists in a 4-0 win against the Ottawa Senators on Friday, Svechnikov shouldn’t struggle to enhance his tally against lowly Anaheim.
Dawson Mercer – Over 0.5 Points (-120)
Dawson Mercer chalked up three points when the New Jersey Devils claimed a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings last time out, grabbing two goals and one assist. Impressively, Mercer has now registered nine points in his previous five outings.
Following a run of seven wins in 10 games, the Devils find themselves second in the Metropolitan Division, five places above the Philadelphia Flyers, who visit Prudential Center on Saturday. With that in mind, I’m confident that Mercer will continue his hot streak on home soil.
David Pastrnak – Over 4.5 Shots on Goal (-110)
No player has recorded more shots on goal than David Pastrnak this season. Indeed, the Boston Bruins superstar has racked up a whopping 275 shots on goal across 57 appearances, meaning he averages 4.82 SOG per game in 2022-23.
Thanks largely to Pastrnak’s efforts, the Boston Bruins sit at the summit of the Atlantic Division on a five-game winning streak. Since the Vancouver Canucks find themselves third from bottom in the Pacific Division, Pastrnak will fancy his chances of notching over 4.5 SOG on Saturday.
Jack Eichel – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+120)
Stars vs. Golden Knights Picks
Granted, the Dallas Stars occupy first place in the Central Division, but they head into Saturday’s match-up against the Vegas Golden Knights on a five-game losing streak, while the Golden Knights have won six of their previous seven outings.
Vegas’ Jack Eichel registered three shots on goal against the Calgary Flames last time out, meaning the 26-year-old has achieved 3+ SOG in each of his last eight outings. Since the Stars are stuck in a rut, I can see Eichel chalking up over 3.5 shots on goal at T-Mobile Arena.
J.T. Compher – Over 0.5 Points (-125)
J.T. Compher has racked up a mammoth eight points in his previous three outings. After posting two points against the St. Louis Blues, the Colorado Avalanche star registered four points against the Edmonton Oilers before adding two to his tally against the Winnipeg Jets.
Boasting a four-game winning streak, the Avalanche’s next opponents are the Calgary Flames, who have lost six of their past nine encounters. For that reason, I’m confident that Compher will add to his points tally on Saturday.
