We have a jam-packed NHL slate to enjoy this Saturday, January 14th, with a whopping 14 games on the schedule. Lucky for you, I have scoured the NHL odds and selected my recommended NHL player props picks for Saturday.
It can often be difficult to find the best NHL props when almost 90% of the league’s team are in action on the same day. That said, I’m confident that my NHL picks will help you land a tasty profit this weekend.
Connor McDavid – Over 1.5 Points (-135)
Oilers vs. Golden Knights Preview
Unsurprisingly, Connor McDavid was the star of the show when the Edmonton Oilers thrashed the San Jose Sharks 7-1 on Friday. The Edmonton captain bagged two goals and one assist against San Jose, tightening his grip on the Art Ross Trophy in the process.
Having racked up 37 goals and 45 assists, McDavid has registered a mammoth 82 points this season. Boasting a 16-point lead at the summit of the Art Ross Trophy leaderboard, the four-time winner looks set to enjoy even more success against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.
Andrei Svechnikov – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-105)
Penguins vs. Hurricanes Preview
The Carolina Hurricanes returned to winning ways in style on Friday, securing a 6-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Despite their recent wobble, the Hurricanes still find themselves atop the Metropolitan division.
Although Andrei Svechnikov failed to score or assist last time out, he still managed to chalk up five shots on goal. Carolina’s Russian winger has recorded over 4.5 SOG in six of his previous eight appearances, so I expect him to notch at least four shots against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Andre Burakovsky – Over 0.5 Points (-125)
Having won each of their last seven games, the Seattle Kraken will be super-confident of defeating the Chicago Blackhawks this weekend. After all, the Blackhawks sit rock bottom of the Central division after losing 13 of their past 17 outings.
Andre Burakovsky is Seattle’s leading point-getter this season. The Sweden international has racked up seven points across the previous five games, meaning he shouldn’t struggle to enhance his tally against the lowly Blackhawks on Saturday.
Jason Robertson – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-125)
To say that Jason Robertson is enjoying a standout season would be an understatement. Indeed, the Dallas Stars winger sits fourth on the goals leaderboard, fifth on the points leaderboard and ninth on the SOG leaderboard.
Thanks largely to Roberston’s exploits, the Stars find themselves at the summit of the Central division. With their next opponents, the Calgary Flames, sitting fourth in the Pacific division, I’m confident that Robo will chalk up over 3.5 shots on goal this weekend.
Mikko Rantanen – Over 0.5 Goals (-120)
Senators vs. Avalanche Preview
Only seven players in the NHL have netted more goals than Mikko Rantanen this season. The Colorado Avalanche star averages 0.68 goals per game in 2022-23, having bagged 27 goals across 40 outings.
On Saturday, the Avalanche face the Ottawa Senators, who sit second from bottom in the Atlantic Division. Granted, Colorado has struggled for consistency this year, but Rantanen will be confident of finding the net once again this weekend.
