If you’re looking for the best NHL player props for Thursday, January 26th, look no further. Having scoured the NHL odds at several top-rated online sportsbooks, I have tracked down the best bets for today’s games.
My recommended NHL player props picks involve some of the league’s top players, including David Pastrnak, Tage Thompson and Mikko Rantanen. Naturally, I’m confident that they can produce bet-winning performances on Thursday.
David Pastrnak – Over 0.5 Assists (+120)
Bruins vs. Lightning Predictions
When the Boston Bruins beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 earlier this week, David Pastrnak chalked up one goal, three assists and seven shots on goal. As expected, the unstoppable Czech winger stole the show at Bell Centre.
Boasting a six-game winning streak, the Bruins will be confident of dispatching the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have claimed eight wins fewer than Boston this season. In my eyes, odds of +120 for Pastrnak to register an assist are too good to miss.
Jack Hughes – Over 4.5 Shots on Goal (-115)
Devils vs. Predators Predictions
Only two players have racked up more shots on goal than Jack Hughes this season. The New Jersey Devils superstar has notched 211 shots on goal in 47 appearances, meaning he averages 4.49 SOG per game in 2022-23.
Hughes has also recorded 19 shots on goal across the past four games, helping the Devils to extend their eye-catching run to seven victories in eight outings. With the inconsistent Nashville Panthers up next, Hughes should achieve over 4.5 SOG on Thursday.
Tage Thompson – Over 0.5 Points (-200)
Although the Winnipeg Jets find themselves second in the Central Division, the Buffalo Sabres will fancy their chances of causing an upset on Thursday, as they head to Canada Life Centre on a four-game winning streak.
After registering two points against the Dallas Stars earlier this week, Buffalo’s Tage Thompson bagged three points against the St. Louis Blues last time out. With that in mind, I expect to him pick up at least one point against the Jets.
Mikko Rantanen – Over 1.5 Points (+110)
Ducks vs. Avalanche Predictions
The Colorado Avalanche sit third in the Central Division following a run of six straight wins, meaning they should make light work of the Anaheim Ducks, who find themselves rock bottom of the Pacific Division with only 14 wins to their name this season.
I can see Colorado picking up plenty of points against Anaheim, and that means Mikko Rantanen will almost certainly be at the heart of the action. Rantanen has notched over 1.5 points in four of his previous eight outings, so I’m backing him to dominate the Ducks.
Mikael Backlund – Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-155)
Blackhawks vs. Flames Predictions
Earlier this month, Mikael Backlund chalked up eight shots on goal against Winnipeg. Since then, the Calgary Flames star has achieved over 2.5 SOG on seven occasions, with five shots on goal coming against the Columbus Blue Jackets last time out.
On Thursday, the Flames host the Chicago Blackhawks, who sit rock bottom of the Central Division. Both Backlund and the Flames are in good form at the moment, so I expect Backlund to play a starring role in a comfortable win for his team.
