Are you looking for the best NHL player props for today’s games? Look no further! Below, I share my recommended NHL picks for Tuesday, February 21st, explaining my reasoning behind each wager.
Jack Hughes – Over 4.5 Shots on Goal (-115)
Only four players have racked up more shots on goal than Jack Hughes this season. The New Jersey Devils youngster has registered 237 shots across 52 appearances, meaning he averages 4.56 shots on goal per game in 2022-23.
Having won 13 of their last 17 games, the Devils find themselves second in the Metropolitan Division. With the Montreal Canadiens sitting rock bottom of the Atlantic Division, Hughes looks destined to enjoy plenty of success on Tuesday.
Martin Necas – Over 0.5 Points (-165)
The Carolina Hurricanes occupy first place in the Metropolitan Division, having won 10 of their previous 11 encounters. On Tuesday, the Hurricanes host the St. Louis Blues, who sit third from bottom in the Central Division following a run of seven losses in 10 games.
With that in mind, I can see Carolina’s Martin Necas adding to his points tally on Tuesday. Necas notched three points when the Canes defeated the Washington Capitals 4-1 last time out, so I’m confident that he will record over 0.5 points against the Blues.
Steven Stamkos – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-140)
Steven Stamkos has racked up 3+ shots on goal in six of his last 10 outings, with Tampa Bay Lightning captain registering 5+ shots on goal on three occasions in that time. For that reason, I expect Stamkos to record over 3.5 shots on goal against the Anaheim Ducks.
After all, the Lightning occupy second place in the Atlantic Division, while the Ducks find themselves rock bottom of the Pacific Division after suffering five straight defeats. That tells you everything you need to know about the gulf between the two teams.
Kevin Fiala – Over 0.5 Points (-140)
Thanks to a run of seven wins in nine outings, the Los Angeles Kings have cemented second place in the Pacific Division. It’s fair to say that Kevin Fiala has played a key role in the Kings recent upturn, as the Swiss winger has notched 14 points across the past nine games.
Fiala has even managed to register three points in each of his previous two appearances, humiliating the Anaheim Ducks and Arizona Coyotes during that period. Although the Minnesota Wild will likely be more difficult to break down, Fiala shouldn’t struggle to enhance his points tally on Tuesday.
Jonathan Marchessault – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-155)
Golden Knights vs. Blackhawks Picks
The Vegas Golden Knights extended their winning streak to five games with a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning last time out. As a result, the high-flying Golden Knights remain at the summit of the Pacific Division.
Jonathan Marchessault chalked up seven shots on goal against Tampa Bay, meaning he has registered 23 SOG across his previous seven games. With the struggling Chicago Blackhawks up next for Vegas, I’m backing Marchessault to notch over 3.5 shots on goal.
