Almost the entire NHL will play tonight. With a full schedule, there is ample opportunity to find betting value on NHL underdogs.
Road underdogs in the NHL are covering the puck line over 60 percent of the time and underdogs are winning games at about a 35 percent clip.
Which underdogs have the best chance at getting bettors a win tonight? Here are the top underdog picks for Thursday, March 10, 2022.
Chicago Blackhawks vs. Boston Bruins
Best Bet: BLACKHAWKS +1.5 (-103)
Chicago isn’t setting the NHL on fire this season, but they are catching the Bruins at a time where they may have a letdown. Boston has won seven of ten games but has only covered in four of those games.
For the season at home, Boston is just 6-22 ATS. Of the Bruins’ last seven wins, three of them have been by one goal. Each of those wins was against a team not in position to win a playoff spot. Boston plays well enough to beat bad teams but not beat them by more than one goal.
Chicago has actually covered the spread in six of their last ten games and in both of their road games in that span. The Blackhawks have three wins in their last six games and they own a goal differential of +1 in those games. Chicago is playing just well enough to keep tonight’s game close.
Vegas Golden Knights vs. Buffalo Sabres
Golden Knights vs. Sabres Pick
Best Bet: SABRES +190
Jack Eichel, the No. 2 pick in the 2015 draft by the Sabres, returns to Buffalo. Eichel and Sabres parted ways last year after some serious issues. He returns tonight with a Golden Knights team that has scored two or fewer goals in five of its last seven games.
Vegas has just four wins in their last 11 games and all of them came against teams at the bottom of their respective divisions.
Buffalo, on the other hand, has won two of its last four and the wins were impressive. The Sabres beat Toronto and Minnesota. The Sabres use that momentum plus the whole Eichel ordeal as incentive to get tonight’s upset.

Winnipeg Jets vs. New Jersey Devils
Best Bet: DEVILS +105
New Jersey has won six of its last 11 games and while that may not seem like much, it is for the Devils. The wins have been impressive too with victories over Colorado, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis twice.
Winnipeg has just three wins in their last nine games. They did beat Tampa Bay on Tuesday 7-4, but that was the Jets first win over a team with a winning record since the middle of February.
With the Jets playing very mediocre hockey, we’ll take a shot on the home underdog that has been playing better as of late.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. NY Islanders
Blue Jackets vs. Islanders Pick
Pick: BLUE JACKETS +135
Over their last ten games, the Blue Jackets are scoring 4.1 goals per game. In their last six games, their defense has failed them and they are just 1-5 SU.
The Islanders only have two wins in their last seven games. Columbus has won seven of its last nine games on the road and has beaten the Islanders in two of the last three meetings.
