The 2021 version of The Memorial Tournament is set to tee off in Dublin, Ohio and last year’s winner is topping the odds list. In 2020 Jon Rahm won the event going 279 for the tournament and winning by three strokes over Ryan Palmer.
This year Rahm enters as the lone betting favorite at +1000 with a host of players knotted up at +1400 and +1600. That’s good news for people looking for some value further down the leader board.
One thing to take note of for The Memorial Tournament is the number of times this event has ended in a playoff in recent years. Four of the last seven have ended in a playoff with the remaining three tournaments being won by three strokes or less.
The most recent playoff finish was in 2018 and it included a three-way finish that included Bryson DeChambeau, An Byeong-hun, and Kyle Stanley. DeChambeau, at +1400 this week, won the event over the two by sinking a birdie putt on the second playoff hole.
DeChambeau can take advantage of his long drives once again at this event once again! Here are the favorites through +1600 to win the 2021 Memorial Tournament outright according to Intertops.
Jon Rahm +1000
Rory McIlroy +1400
Jordan Spieth +1400
Bryson DeChambeau +1400
Justin Thomas +1600
Collin Morikawa +1600
Viktor Hovland +1600

Muirfield Village Golf Club has undergone some renovations since 2020 including rebuilding many of the greens. So, toss your old putting notes out! Players will need to take full advantage of practice to get a good idea of how putts will roll.
New green also can have some added bounce to them as they’ve not firmed up as much as a seasoned green would be. It will be interesting to see which players opt for a bump and run approach instead of a high angled short pitch.
Other changes include work done to the bunkers and some added yardage. According to published reports, the rough is going to be around 4 inches deep around the course.
2021 Memorial Tournament Predictions
Jordan Spieth +1400
Jordan Speith was the man to beat last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge – aka the Colonial. And he got beat by Jason Kokrak on the final day. Along the way, Speith played great golf showing his form is back on track. Speith can take advantage of some of the wider fairways this week more so than last week.
Justin Thomas +1600
Earlier in the season, Justin Thomas won the PLAYERS and he’s been hovering around the top of the leaderboard for several outings since. His past trips to The Memorial include a T18 last year, a T18 in 2018, and a T4 in 2017. Thomas plays this course well and his driver will have plenty of room with these fairways.
Cameron Smith +4000
Cameron Smith enters the event as one of the top PGA Tour players in par-five scoring. That’s a perfect fit for Muirfield Village Golf Club. Smith has the opportunity to show off his skills around the green this week. Hopefully, his level of current play will erase some of his 2 for five cuts at this event.
Others I Like: Bryson DeChambeau can be considered as being somewhat as a value pick at +1400. He won this event in 2018 and if he’s accurate off the tee, he could do it again. Tony Finau comes in at +2500 and he had a great outing at the PGA Championship where he finished T8. Before that, he finished T10 at the Masters.
