Matchweek 20 of the 2022-23 Premier League season gets underway on Friday, January 13th. If you’re looking for some top Premier League betting predictions, you have certainly come to the right place.
Not only do we have the Manchester derby this weekend, but we also have the North London derby to enjoy. With Manchester City attempting to chase down Arsenal in the race for the title, the importance of matchweek 20 cannot be overstated.
Manchester United vs. Manchester City
Best Bet: Over 2.5 Goals (-150)
Fourth-place Manchester United trails second-place Man City by four points in the Premier League table. Thanks to a run of four consecutive wins, the Red Devils find themselves within touching distance of their bitter rivals.
In 2022, Man City claimed two high-scoring victories over United – winning 4-1 in March and 6-3 in October. The Manchester derby invariably dishes up plenty of action, so I recommend backing the over 2.5 goals wager here.
Nottingham Forest vs. Leicester City
Best Bet: Nottingham Forest to Win (+170)
With Nottingham Forest and Leicester City locked on 17 points, the Premier League oddsmakers anticipate a close-fought battle at the City Ground on Saturday. However, Forest’s recent form is far better than Leicester’s.
The Tricky Trees have lost just two of their last eight Premier League games, claiming clean-sheet wins against Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Southampton in the process. The Foxes have lost each of their previous four outings in all competitions, so I can see them suffering another defeat this weekend.
How to Bet on the Premier League
Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Liverpool
Best Bet: Both Teams to Score (-200)
Ever since Roberto De Zerbi replaced Graham Potter at the Amex, Brighton has both scored and conceded goals at a rapid rate. Across the past seven games, the Seagulls have scored 18 and conceded 14 – with both teams scoring on every occasion.
Funnily enough, Liverpool (71%) is one of only two teams with a higher BTTS ratio than Brighton (65%). Both teams have scored in each of Liverpool’s previous six league games, making the BTTS wager the ideal option for this match-up.
Newcastle United vs. Fulham
Best Bet: Newcastle United to Win (-163)
There is no denying that Newcastle United is enjoying a phenomenal season. Having lost just one of their 18 Premier League games, the Magpies find themselves third – four points shy of Man City and nine behind Arsenal.
Granted, Fulham has also exceeded expectations this term, but Marco Silva’s men will struggle to get anything from Sunday’s showdown at St James’ Park. That’s why I’m backing Newcastle to claim all three points on home soil.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Arsenal
Best Bet: Over 2.5 Goals (-130)
The North London derby invariably produces fireworks, but Sunday’s encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will have an added edge given Arsenal’s position at the summit of the Premier League table.
Six of the last seven league meetings between Tottenham and Arsenal have produced over 2.5 goals, with three of those games dishing up over 3.5 goals. The Gunners and Spurs are among the top three scorers this season, so we should see plenty of goals on Sunday.
