Premier League Matchweek 27 Predictions

Don’t look now, but Liverpool has closed what seemed an insurmountable lead on league leaders Manchester City down to three points with 12 matches remaining in the campaign.

Premier League Bookmakers

Antonio Conte dominated the midweek headlines with comments that once again raised concern regarding his future at Tottenham; setting aside the controversy; there is a loaded weekend of Premier League action set to go down.

Here are the best bets for Matchweek 27 in the Premier League.

Top Match-Winner: Newcastle (+205)

Neither one of these clubs has had a memorable season thus far, and both are at risk of being relegated at the end of the season. Newcastle has been bolstering its squad since new ownership arrived and got a much-needed point against West Ham their last time out, which is a good building block moving forward. Their upcoming opponent in Brentford is nowhere near as solid of an outfit as the Hammers, so they should be able to take three points from the clash.

The Bees have only claimed one point from their last five outings, a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace. Their attack usually looks lifeless, and their defense leaks goals. Newcastle desperately needs the win and should get it this Saturday.

Premier League Odds

Top Over/Under: Brighton vs. Aston Villa Under 2.5 Goals

Both Brighton and Aston Villa are close to the bottom of the table in goals for; Brighton has also let in the sixth-fewest goals in the league, which gives even more credence to there being a low-scoring affair when these two teams meet.

Aston Villa has been prone to leaking goals, but Brighton does not have an attack that is capable of capitalizing on this deficiency. This is a slight risk because of the form of Villa’s Philippe Coutinho, but regardless, the smart money is on this match, staying under 2.5 total goals.

Top Asian Handicap: Tottenham -0.5 (-115)

This pick could cause a bit of controversy following Antoni Conte’s damning comments in the midweek, but Spurs is a good enough side to seal three points against Leeds.

They have a capable counterattack that will flourish against the transitional openings in Leeds’ defense, and their five-at-the-back system will help them against Leeds’ pressing.

Leeds has only taken one point from its last five matches and does not look ready to handle a team that, despite its own problems, is a much higher profile than they are.

Premier League Predictions

Parlay: Manchester City (-360) / Manchester United (-310)

Manchester City vs. Everton Preview / Watford vs. Manchester United Preview

Manchester City is still the best team in the league and has a favorable matchup with an Everton side that, despite showing flashes of brilliance under new manager Frank Lampard, were a total mess in their last outing. City’s attack is simply too quick and diverse for the Toffees and will spur them to secure three points.

Manchester United’s matchup against 19th-place Watford will be a chance at redemption after a 4-1 loss earlier in the season was the final chapter in former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s legacy. United received an excellent performance from Jadon Sancho in last week’s 4-2 win over Leeds United and should be able to get past their lowly challengers.
