Well, as we drag ourselves around after a Super Bowl hangover, here is a nice little three-team college basketball parlay to perk you up.

And in case you had a little too much faith in Patrick Mahomes, this may serve as a nice bailout for you, perhaps taking each team one at a time as well.

Let’s start things off with the top-ranked team in the country, shall we?

Gonzaga Bulldogs at BYU Cougars Picks

Gonzaga vs. BYU Betting Preview

Tip-off: 11 p.m. Eastern (ESPN)

College Basketball Odds: Gonzaga – 10, Total 156.5

Well, Gonzaga continues to roll along, and a huge key to that is their two-point shooting, which is certainly number one with a bullet, at a sizzling 64.7%. Defending that happens to be the area where BYU does excel, as they held opponents to just 44% inside of the three-point arc. And let’s give the Cougars some credit – they did hold the ‘Zags to 56% in two-pointers when they met last. But all that did was earn themselves a 17-point loss.

No team in the nation beats you on both sides of the ball like the guys from Spokane. And you know, thus far only West Virginia has come within double digits. As you may be aware, we like to use so the metrics that are put before us by the people at Kenpom.com, Gonzaga has two of the top 12 players in the country in the category of “offensive rating,” which would be 6 – 7 forward Corey Kispert and 6 – 5 guard Joel Ayayi. And we haven’t even gotten to the best player – freshman guard Jalen Suggs, whose name you’ll hear called early in the NBA Draft.

Don’t get us wrong; BYU isn’t to be taken lightly, but this cushion just isn’t enough.

The Play: GONZAGA -10

Expert College Basketball Predictions

Miami Hurricanes at North Carolina Tar Heels Picks

Miami vs. North Carolina Betting Preview

Tip-off: 7 p.m. Eastern (ESPN)

College Basketball Odds: North Carolina -9.5, Total 141

When you look at North Carolina, you notice that while they haven’t scored many wins that blow you away, they’ve lost to quality teams, and they’re coming off their best scoring effort of the season, beating Duke 91 – 87. Caleb Love was sizzling in that one, with 25 points and seven assists, and the Tar Heels did what they do best, pulling down 14 offensive rebounds.

Roy Williams’ team is second best in the nation in offensive rebounding percentage, and one of their big men, 6 – 11 Day’Ron Sharpe, had 16 boards the last time these two teams met. In that one, Miami made only three triples and shot just 35% overall. But North Carolina escaped with only a 67 – 65 victory.

Anyone who follows the ‘Canes realizes the player attrition they have been through. But there are signs of things getting a little better, despite five defeats in their last six games. A win over Duke, followed by an overtime loss to a formidable Virginia Tech squad is something that was not unimpressive to us.

Isaiah Wong has been on a nice little roll, scoring 18.9 points per game over his last seven. Elijah Olaniyi, the Stony Brook transfer, has scored 40 points over the last two games and may be finally finding his place as a member of the starting lineup. Now this team might be welcoming back spark plug guard Chris Lykes, the pre-season all-ACC selection, who’s had a few practices under his belt and could add another dimension to this offense. Lykes scored 47 points in two meetings with the Tar Heels back when he was a sophomore. Reportedly he is “chomping at the bit” to get out there.

Yes, North Carolina has a size advantage that is tough to deal with. But this may be too many points to give a Miami squad that has been feisty of late without Lykes and several others.

The Play: MIAMI – 9.5

Air Force Falcons at UNLV Rebels Picks

Air Force vs. UNLV Betting Preview

Tip-off: 9 p.m. Eastern (CBS Sports Network)

College Basketball Odds: UNLV – 14.5, Total 130

Let’s face it – fundamentally, Air Force is a bit of a mess. They are among the nation’s worst teams in turning the ball over, surrendering the glass at both ends of the floor, in defending the opposition’s shooting, whether that is inside or outside the three-point arc. Oh, and they also can’t make free throws.

But the Falcons, like UNLV, have to toss the triple up there to be effective, apparently. having taken 46% of their overall shots from downtown. And they may succeed here, as UNLV has allowed 39.2%, and have generally permitted the opposition to work the ball around patiently for a good shot.

Air Force, surprisingly, can shoot a pretty high percentage when getting closer to the basket. However, in Saturday night’s meeting, they made only five field goals when operating inside the circle. That will undoubtedly have to improve. But UNLV took 15 free throws in that Saturday game (unusual for them) , and got 22 points and thirteen rebounds from Bryce Hamilton, and couldn’t create a margin that came anywhere near the total that is posted here.

Undoubtedly, Air Force is going to be hard-pressed to create much of an advantage over anybody on paper. and they have lost six games in a row. But this is too many points to give them when they can shoot from the outside without a lot of resistance.

The Play: AIR FORCE +14.5
