We have a few games of interest in the NBA on Monday night. For better odds, we’ll be parlaying our favorite three teams on Monday. Let’s get familiar with the games and the three-team parlay (Learn More About Parley Bets).
Milwaukee Bucks at San Antonio Spurs Preview
Best Bet: Bucks -7
There’s a significant advantage for Milwaukee against San Antonio on both ends of the floor.
The Bucks own a top-ten offense and top-ten defense, making them one of the most complete teams in the NBA. It’s a level deeper, though, that catches our eye for this three-team parlay.
The team is led by two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. The big prefers to get his points inside, and he has gifted a Spurs defense that can’t quite stop points in the paint. San Antonio ranks 25th in the NBA at interior defense. Expect a big game for Antetokounmpo.
Elsewhere, the Milwaukee offense is built on the quality of their three-point shot. The Bucks make nearly 15 threes a game, good for third-best in the NBA. The Spurs let opponents shoot 37.6% from deep – seventh-worst in the NBA.
The Spurs, with their bottom-ten offense, are going to struggle to score against this Bucks defense. Their offense prefers to do their scoring inside, but unfortunately for them, Milwaukee is the third-best defense at stopping points in the paint.
This game checks all the boxes you’d want in a spread pick. Bet on Milwaukee confidently.
Houston Rockets at Portland Trail Blazers Preview
Rockets vs. Trail Blazers Predictions
Best Bet: Trail Blazers -15
This is a bit of a chalk pick, given the fact that Houston is one of the worst teams in the West and Portland is playing for the sixth seed. Even with the big spread, there’s enough to like about the Blazers in this Monday night game.
Damian Lillard has been playing strong basketball all season, scoring nearly 30 points per game.
His play, coupled with solid scoring from CJ McCollum, has Portland in the top ten of total offense. The guards live and die by the three – making the second most threes per game.
The Portland style of play can thrive against this porous Houston defense. There aren’t many defenses in the NBA worse at defending outside shots than the Rockets. Lillard and the rest of this offense are in for a big game from deep – and it’s why we like them to cover this spread.
Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks Preview
Best Bet: Wizards +7.5
The final leg of our parlay is Washington to cover the spread against the Atlanta Hawks. This Wizards team deserves our respect. 7-3 in their last ten, Washington has risen from the ashes of the Eastern Conference to secure themselves in the play-in tournament.
It’s this momentum that has caught our eye for Monday night. The Hawks are just 5-5 in their last ten, losing their most recent game.
Washington has one distinct advantage on the offensive end, scoring in the paint. Washington’s offense ranks fifth in the NBA in points in the paint. Atlanta’s defense ranks 20th at stopping such offenses.
The Wizards’ style of play, plus their recent success, has us leaning toward Washington on Monday night.
