Kansas State Wildcats at Oklahoma State Cowboys Preview

Wildcats vs. Cowboys Betting Report

Best Bet: Oklahoma State (-15.5)

The very first thing you need to know about this game is that Kansas State is bad. We’re talking the morning after 20 shots of tequila bad.

Bruce Weber’s team is currently 198th in Ken Pomeroy’s ranking system and a loser of 11 consecutive games. The Wildcats have covered the spread in just six of their 20 games this season.

Their average margin is minus-11 points per game, and they are underperforming the spread by nearly five points per game.

On the road, it only gets worse. The Wildcats have an average margin of minus-19 points per game and are underperforming the spread by 3.2 points per game.

These two teams met in early January in Manhattan, Kan., where the Cowboys won by 16 points, with Cade Cunningham scoring only five points. The potential first pick in the NBA draft has been playing great in his last four games, averaging over 21 points, six rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

This is the perfect game for Oklahoma State to play after a tough loss to Kansas on Monday, so take the Cowboys to cover the big number.

Indiana Hoosiers at Ohio State Buckeyes Preview

Hoosiers vs. Buckeyes Betting Report

Best Bet: Over 139.5 Points

Indiana may be good on defense, but Ohio State is one of the most efficient offensive teams in the nation. In fact, the Buckeyes are currently fourth in the nation in that metric, according to Ken Pomeroy.

At home, Ohio State is spectacular with a 9-1 straight-up record and a margin of victory of 15.3 points per game. As the favorite, the Buckeyes are 11-2 on the season, while Indiana is 3-4 as the underdog. Ohio State straight-up is a nice bet.

The better money, however, is betting the over. The total has gone over in six of the Buckeyes’ last nine games and in six of Indiana’s last eight games.

Ohio State has averaged roughly 80 points per game over its last four, and Indiana is good for around 67. This one should be an easy over.

Connecticut Huskies at Xavier Musketeers Preview

Huskies vs. Musketeers Betting Report

Best Bet: Xavier -3

The logic in taking the Musketeers is pretty simple: the Huskies are playing without James Bouknight. Connecticut’s leading scorer has missed the last seven games with a hyper-extended elbow.

The result has been a spiral, as the Huskies have now lost four of their last five games, with the sole victory coming at the expense of a bad Butler team.

Xavier is starting to put it together, having won three consecutive games while holding opponents to under 70 points per game. RJ Cole and Tyrece Martin aren’t players that can be all the way trusted at this point.

The Musketeers have covered the spread in seven of their last nine games while also being 8-1 straight-up as the favorites.

Loyola-Chicago Ramblers at Drake Bulldogs Preview

Ramblers vs. Bulldogs Betting Report

Best Bet: Loyola-Chicago -2.5

It is rare that you bet against a home underdog, especially one that is seemingly as good as Drake is. The problem is, Drake hasn’t played anyone.

Of its 17 victories, 10 of them have come against quadrant four teams, and their lone defeat came at the hands of a quadrant four squad.

Now, the Ramblers haven’t exactly run the gauntlet this season either, but they have played Wisconsin and Richmond, so they have seen high-level competition. The other positive is that Loyola is considered to be one of the best defensive groups in the entire nation while boasting a rotation that is loaded with upperclassmen.

Take Loyola to cover the small number on the road in the first game of the two-game weekend series between the two clubs.
