Indiana at Nebraska Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Our number has Indiana by 3.6. Indiana is a 7.5-point favorite. Take Nebraska +7.5.

Indiana opened as a 9.5-point favorite at DraftKings and is a 7.5-point favorite now. Our number is Indiana by 3.6 in Lincoln. The gap is 3.9 points, and the threshold for a bet here is 3.

This page carried no line until now. It said Nebraska was a bet at +6.5 or longer, and +7.5 is inside that range, so the side has not changed: it now has a price.

How the number is built

Our number is half the difference between the home team’s average margin at home and the visitor’s average margin on the road, against FBS teams only, 2025 and 2026 together.

Nebraska is 6-3 at home against FBS teams over that span, winning by 17.4 points a game across 9 games. No. 7 Indiana is 6-0 on the road against FBS teams, winning by 24.7 a game across 6 games. The difference is 7.2 points in Indiana’s favor. Half of it, from the unrounded averages of 17.44 and 24.67, is 3.61, which rounds to 3.6.

The base is 15 games, 11 of them from 2025. Both samples clear the 4-game minimum. Since this page’s first version, Nebraska beat Maryland 48-23 at home and Indiana won 47-15 at Rutgers, both on 3 October, and our number moved from Indiana by 3.4 to 3.6.

Indiana on the road

Indiana won all six: 20-15 at Iowa, 30-20 at Oregon, 55-10 at Maryland, 27-24 at Penn State and 56-3 at Purdue in 2025, and 47-15 at Rutgers on 3 October.

Two were one-score games, by 5 at Iowa and by 3 at Penn State. The other four were won by 10, 45, 53 and 32.

Nebraska at home

Nebraska beat Akron 68-0, Michigan State 38-27 and Northwestern 28-21 at home in 2025, and lost 30-27 to Michigan, 21-17 to USC and 40-16 to Iowa. This season it has beaten Ohio 49-21, Bowling Green 56-7 and Maryland 48-23 at home.

The Akron game carries a lot of this sample. Without its 68 points, the other eight home games average a win by 11.1.

2026 so far

Both teams are 5-0 and 2-0 in the Big Ten. Indiana beat North Texas 52-16, Howard 55-0, Western Kentucky 38-0 and Northwestern 29-23 at home, then won at Rutgers. Howard is outside the FBS. Against FBS teams Indiana has scored 41.5 a game and allowed 13.5, a margin of +28.0.

Our number, the market and FPI all have Indiana as the better team. The question is by how much, and our number says by about half of what the line asks.

Pick: Nebraska +7.5

Nebraska +7.5 at -115. The gap is 3.9 points against a 3-point threshold.

It rests on 15 games, split 9 and 6, each side past the 4-game minimum. At the open, Nebraska +9.5, the gap was 5.9 and this was already a bet. The line has since come 2 points toward Nebraska, and the margin over the threshold is thinner.

What changes it

The line. Nebraska stays a bet down to +7, where the gap is 3.4. At +6.5 it is 2.9, and the call becomes a pass. Indiana would be the bet only at -0.5 or as an underdog.

The weak point is the Akron game. Without it, Nebraska’s home average is 11.1 and our number would be Indiana by 6.8. Against Indiana -7.5 the gap would be 0.7, a pass. The method keeps every FBS home game and we do not remove results we dislike, but one game is carrying this bet.

Availability is not stated here. Check the injury report before you bet.

The total is 48.5, down from 50.5 at the open. The over is -112 and the under -108.
